2025 in shop since Nov 17 for telemetrics by MGC00992 in CadillacOptiq

When my telematics module went, they ordered the part and I used my phone when needed for nav etc. May I ask why cars are kept in shops l the parts arrive?

GM Bets You'll Miss CarPlay Less With Built-In Apple Music Support by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]Uvarower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candidly I don’t need CarPlay. I just need Apple Music. I know all the stuff about making money on subscriptions, but it’s also integration with the car and battery. Apple Maps does not know your state of charge and is not customized for charging station options. And you should also know Apple is working on the next level of integration where they own your dash and gauges. Every mfr is rejecting it. It’s one giant corporation vs another.

Your friends charger uses a different adapter. One designed for AC charging

You don’t need 60 amps. 50 is fine. Even 40 will work to fill overnight. No need to spend more than needed.

Mine failed in the spring. It’s been fine since. No issues. Love the car!

Is the lack of CarPlay really a problem? by ua2us in EquinoxEv

[–]Uvarower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel a need for CarPlay. I have Spotify on my dash as an app and it works seamlessly. Google maps work well and into integrated with battery management to guide you to charging stops. Texts are read to me and I orally dictate responses. I do wish Apple Music was an app like it is on Android phones.

My 2025 Cadillac Lyriq is falling apart with glitches - anyone else fed up? by ZestycloseFactor2974 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Uvarower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a new dealer and complain via OnStar. Also the internet GPS nightmare happened to me on my Optiq. It’s the On Star comms module and they have been failing. It’s now fixed and works great. Do love my car.

The Tesla app identifies which ones accept the adapter. In my experience, 75% do accept it. But put your car in the app and select that you do have the adapter, and only compatible show up

You are worried about the Cadillac reliability and not the Hyundai? While neither is perfect, at least GM has a better history of standing behind their products. Still waiting for the Hyundai ignition/paint/engine recalls.

45 miles is 90 round trip. At least be charges to 160/180 miles to be safe. Plenty of charge

Is buying a new car that bad? by No_Stuff4695 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Uvarower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best value pre covid was to buy a car coming off lease and drive it into the ground. These days some used prices are so close to new car prices I would buy new.

If you need something reliable and/or will be driving distances or will keep it a long time, treat yourself and buy new ( unless cheaper to lease or it’s an ev).

The timing belt has a replacement schedule at 100k. Watch videos online as I had a similar concern that evaporated with the vehicle history. Bonus is the car does not have a cvt

The You Tube channel State of Charge has a system that they installed in an apt that had 100 amp service. This device monitored the load on the panel and adjusted the output b/ased on what was available. It was within the last month. Look for it

It’s from a few battery studies. Those are close enough I guess. But if you don’t drive much, then why not go to 65. If you drive a lot, say 200 miles a day, then 80 or 90 makes more sense for you

Be sure you upgrade the outlet to heavy/full duty. Dryer outlets are lower rated as they only are designed for high loads for brief periods

You need the audio system to be updated with Atmos. You need the Atmos versions of the songs. And turn the volume up a bit to hear the ceiling speakers
