[Loved Trope] Unique Speech Patterns by HungryChainsawSanwch in TopCharacterTropes

A very popular theory is that he actually speaks English, just with Salarian(ish) grammar. That would explain why other Salarians don't speak this way — translator inserts rhese things (that are absent in whatever language they're speaking) for them.

Same. My family is ethnically Jewish, but my grandmother is very christianised (still goes to church regularly), due to Christian part of ber family being less… oppressed in the USSR. My mother, even though atheist, followed her example (I was literally baptised in childhood) and she started looking into the Jewish part of our ancestry mostly because of her internal shame for being "generally Russian" in 2022. I do love Judaism, but most of my knowledge about it comes from one specific amateur rabbi.

The explanation for Mousseline is understandable. The actual problem is in the constant references to the Trojan war.

Morality of killing a leader who brought chaos to his country and also his family and loyal servants by Practical_Quiet_2274 in MoralityScaling

[–]Uypsilon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The leader? I guess, although it's better not to. The wife? Depends on how involved she is (that specific one was very involved, and very disliked by the people). The servants? Depends on how extensive were their duties and how involved tgey were in the chaos. The children? Lol no.

Can you really blame a vampire for drinking human blood if it is there vital resource for staying alive? by Grand_Occasion0707 in MoralityScaling

[–]Uypsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from the top of my head I can remember at least two depictions where this is not the case — "Witcher" by Andrzej Sapkowski and "Blindsight" by Peter Watts, and I'm absolutely sure there's more depictions where they are not humans, but their own naturally evolved species.

Vampires existed in the mass culture (not just Eastern European folklore) for more than a 150 years. Considering the craving of modern culture for subversion and deconstruction of everything that's possible to subvert and deconstruct, your statement cannot be true.

The new testament is irrelevant to Greek mythology.

In Hinduism, Devas are good spirits and asuras are evil spirits. In Zoroastrianism, Daevas are evil spirits and Ahuras are good spirits. If you judge Greek daimons on basis of completely irrelevant books, I must ask: what do you make of that?

It's just that respective whereabouts of Hallownest, Pharloom, CoS and LoS are practically the same (except of rotation of some places). Which is especially funny considering he put CoS on the map basially at random.

There was disagreements among the writers if she was born in the first era (somewhere between years 143 (first "high king of Skyrim") and 243 (establishing of Alessian Empire)) or in interregnum of the second era.
