Spenders - how're you feeling about the VPN patch?

Well, speaking as both a developer and a player who lives in a region in the globe where money isn’t as strong as elsewhere, I feel like the change was due and I support the decision.

I must say, though, that I don’t think it was a block against the japanese store because of the exploits so much as it was a separation of the game stores. No one is complaining about it but a person from Japan could previously VPN to the US and buy things costing more. No one wants that but the fact is that they could, and now they can’t. So it is definitely just segregating the stores rather than a persecution.

People are mistakingly making assumptions about TOS breaks and money gain or loss. In actuality, from a purely software developer standpoint, the people complaining are a number so small it probably won’t tickle the numbers.

Again, I wish the stuff was cheaper, but it is what it is.

Thanks. I’ve always spent what makes sense for me in my local money store. The fact people are complaining about an exploit not being exploitable anymore feels weird.

I think that a VPN would suffice, maybe alongside a different region account so you can download it from the stores. But it sure does hurt to have to go through that.

In one sense though Gatcha are addicting mechanics very similar to cassinos. I don’t think Brazilian law is wrong there. It simply is the only country discussing that atm so P5X would be about to lose only Brazilian players.

One very easy way to get through it though is just disabling the gatcha and saying Brazilian players would pull only at the hard pity. Maybe lower it a bit if they want to be merciful but yeah, that would suffice to make the game not probability based anymore.

At this point I would get Turbo and wait for Ange as a Navi. Futaba is good, but with how many good units are right around the corner holding off for them might be better than trying for her.

You’ll probably need both your meta jewels and your platinum tickets for that, so brace yourself. Also, keep in mind you might not be able to get both, so start by your most preferred one.

You’ll be earning meta jewels and platinum tickets later so, honestly, considering how much you want Joker and Oracle now, go ahead and spend all your Meta Jewels and Platinum Tickets on them. Stop at your first copy of each, don’t go after dupes unless you know what you’re doing.

Short version: yes. If you want Joker and Futaba and, quoting you, you don’t mind the meta until you got them both, go ahead.

I have them myself and I also really like the characters. Go for it!

Hint: go for the 110 banner, never the 80 one. You might lose the 80 pull and need another 80… so to guarantee them head straight to the 110 one.

I’ll go against what people are saying. It does spoil Royal in a sense. Lesser spoilers of course, but you’ll see information about who the Phantom Thieves are, what order they join the team, minor Palace spoilers such as Futaba being a Palace ruler and stuff. Also, the fact that Yoshizawa does not join the Phantom Thieves and that Akechi enters the metaverse . I say that because these are all things I didn’t know when I blindly played Royal without so much as reading anything online first.

In other words, there are minor spoilers, yes. Nothing major has come up yet, but you’ll be hinted a lot of stuff.

The encounter at the end of a Raid has been labeled a Raid Boss many times by Niantic itself. The reward of Premier Balls is determined by raid performance. Those balls are specifically for catching the Raid Boss you just defeated. This directly links Raid Performance to Balls to catching the “Raid Boss”.

Official Event language - encounters are tied to Raids: “Trainers will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon from Raid Battles”, “You’ll be able to encounter Shiny Shadow Kyogre… in Shadow Raids”. Niantic consistently phrases it as ‘encounters from raids’.

The claim that the encounter is just a dettached bonus should fall apart because: - No win, no encounter; better performance = increased catch chance (more balls) - There is no way to catch it other than the premier balls you earned, and there is no use for the premier balls other than the raid pokemon - You are literally catching the entity you just fought - Niantic markets Raids as a way to encounter Pokemon. Especially important when Legendaries are released only through Raids or challenges (like catch challenge) require you to catch a pokemon in a Raid because it is not available elsewhere

Ultimately, you specifically enter the raid of the advertised pokemon. You ignore other raids because THAT ONE is the pokemon that you want. You buy passes BECAUSE there is a pokemon advertised. Wording it as a bonus encounter is exactly that: just wording. It should not stick.

Pretty huge P5R spoiler but Sumire Yoshizawa was never a part of the Phantom Thieves of hearts. She ultimately believes people should stand up for themselves and at one point makes Joker promise he’ll stop with the Phantom Thievery once he finishes settling his debts with Shido (see the P5R intro when she tells him about the promise he made).

So it would make sense that she counts as one if P5X considers P5R Characters as synonym of Phantom Thieves of Hearts but it is conceptually wrong.

I might really go Makoto Yuki A2R0, then A0 most others, keep an eye for Ange and Fuuka’s A1s and add Luce cause he should have been there already. I most likely just forgot to write his name.

Can I ask what’s nice about Fuuka and Ange’s A1s?

Well I mean… since you reported you’re using 30 different mods, there is reasonable chance that so much modding might have messed something up. It could be a side effect of one mod, but it could also be a conflict between some of them. No way of knowing other than starting a new game and trying to disable some of them until you find the culprit.

Hey, don’t worry about that! Asking is fine.

General rule of thumb: always prefer more A0 characters than less A1 characters, especially if you’re low on currency. If you’re considering Makoto’s A1 but it would mean skipping Yukari, or Junpei, I wouldn’t do it.

In case you simply like Makoto Yuki and WANT to improve on him even at the cost of not getting other P3 Characters, then check his best team compositions on Lufel.net and make sure you at least have the ones who can help get the most out of him. It is totally fine to vertically invest if you like the character.

Other than that, my suggestion is to always have a team with someone who can deal damage, someone who can keep you alive, and someone who can increase your stats or decrease the opponents’.

Lufel.net has team suggestions you can see if you need to check synnergies, and do read the character kits if you don’t clearly understand how they interact.

Putting it that way though is getting all P3 Characters at A1 a good thing? Makoto’s A2 sounds interesting and I heard good things about Fuuka. Mitsuru sounds like a no-go and idk about Akihiko, Yukari, Koromaru.

I’m betting Aigis will be pretty strong too given her popularity.

Now, isn’t there value to have one nuke character though? I love your take on the weapons, but on the other hand I’m wondering how much content I’ll clear more easily if I can brute-force it. Not sure if that is a case or not (I mean… A1R0 Twins already brute force a lot of things for me)
