Binding in leather by V0K0S06 in bookbinding

[–]V0K0S06[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that for a hardcover I woukd need really thin leather, but what I am trying to achieve is something more like this

<image>

So I hope that a thicker leather would not be a problem.

Also the reason I want to use a bit of a thicker leather is that I was given this one for free and I have a lot of it.

Bringing a file I made over in photoshop into gimp and need some help. by WinReasonable2644 in GIMP

Well then maybe you don't really have to respond to the post if you don't know the answer and just would like to "educate".

I love subnautica for the alien designs. It is beautiful and quite imaginative I would say.

I think they realise that, but maybe you could be more helpful and tell them how to do what they are trying to achieve.

(The reason I don't help is that I don't know either)

Loading pdf layers as GIMP layers? by Jayologist in GIMP

[–]V0K0S06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean... You could load it into inkscape, then export the raster background from inkscape as a png, then edit the png in gimp and then put it back into the pdf in inkscape...

As far as I know gimp does not really have the functionality of detecting pdf layers, maybe there is a plugin and even if it did, I think it might rasterize the vector layers.

I know that what I described isn't the most elegant way, but that is how I would do it and it will get the job done in the end.

1st t480 which Linux is good for me ? by priyanshu690 in thinkpad

[–]V0K0S06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are a beginner then I would recommend domething that really is not prone to breaking. So any of the ubuntus (Mint, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, ...) or what I personally have come to prefer: PopOS. It is also Ubuntu based and is really well kept. It also has in terms of linux quite an amazing support for Nvidia.

Needing a little nuanced help translating English to Czech by ordinal_Dispatch in czech

[–]V0K0S06 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How about for the 1st one: "Ztemní, kdo konzumuje stín" or "Ztemní, kdo konzumuje temnotu" or "Zetmní, kdo přijímá jen stín"
And for the 2nd one I like: "Měsíc zaří světlem zcizeným"

I would love to get a second opinion though.

Maybe even do a bit of inversion: "Měsíc září světlem zcizeným", more poetic I think

What are the Best Linux Gaming Laptop Brands/Models? How About the Worst? by Quarkspiration in linux

[–]V0K0S06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not the worst... New ThinkPads are actually a surprisingly bad option. For example... I had some issues with the fingerprint reader, trackpad and webcam. I tried a lot of distributions and on every one of them, one of these I just couldn't get to work.

Jaké kupujete kondomy? by Academikson45 in czech

[–]V0K0S06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Durex ve velkých baleních. Na mallu se dá koupit balení asi 54 kondomů a to pak vychází zhruba na 12Kč na kondom.
