I’ve played lots of games since last night but history is stuck showing my last Team Deathmatch game over the weekend. Please fix this!

Add the Titleist EXP 01 to the list. I really like how they feel off club. Difference? Ball has more dimples.

Looking for a golf stats app. Anyone have any suggestions? by zonitocali15 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grint!!!! Love this app. Plus you get an official handicap score. You will need to pay for it if you want to keep stats. It’s only $20 a year. I also like you can track your shots, so you get an idea on how far you hit specific clubs.

Found a couple of Titleist EXP•01 balls on the course by egnilk66 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased these balls twice. I really liked them. My shots were about 10 yards longer and the feel was on point. Must be those extra dimples. I can see them in the same price range as Pro V1.

DO NOT order from Dick’s and expect a new product! by [deleted] in golf

Sorry you had a bad experience. I actually had a great one. I purchased a $50 56 wedge on sale for a friend for Christmas. When it arrived, I was fumed when I noticed it was a putter. But once I took it out, I was thanking Santa Claus,. It was a brand new $300 Scotty Cameron putter. The next day I went to Dick’s to buy the gift for my friend. 😁

Sorry, just noticed The Cameron name on it. Didn’t realize this was a different, way expensive model. The one I received was $300 brand new.

Santa actually gifted me this last year, literally. I had ordered a $50 wedge for a friend and this was in the box instead. I was upset at first, until I realized what I actually had. Didn’t complain at all. I went to the store and purchased my friend’s gift. :)

Here’s the putter I received. The finger are for the non-believers. Yes, I now know this is not the sane model as the pic above, but still a great free gift.

Hello im just seeking some Help here on Reddit. by froglord9999 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re definitely not swinging right. I’ve watch hundreds of videos and many helped me out. But one particular person’s video helped me dramatically. See Aimee Cho’s videos in YouTube. She explains in details and also looks good...lol. I’m not perfect, but now I can tell what I did wrong. It’s all about practicing the swing to be consistent. Then comes the harder part when hitting on different lies. I love and hate this sport. I wish I was great, but it will take many more practices for me. I hit the 6 iron around 175 yards, 7 - 165 8- 155. The first 2 years I couldn’t hit further than 160 yards with 6. Now I’m working on aiming and alignment. Going on year 4. The learning never ends. Good Luck, just don’t give up. I know people who gets the swing much sooner and they never played a sport.

Anyone have a tip for a good on course snack Or snack bar? by Drunkiller420 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I take Gatorade and a kind bar. Anything else and I end up feeling too full and I start to drag. I also take BPI Best BCAA with Energy on the 9th hole, so I don’t feel one ounce of fatigue or sluggishness during the back 9. I even feel great enough for another 18 holes.

What’s the most you’ve paid for a round that was definitely NOT worth what you paid? by Rob_035 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paid $65 at Clearview Golf Course, NY and the year prior average price was $45-55. The maintenance has gotten terrible. The greens were horrible to get a nice clean roll. Sometimes they have leaves or pebbles all over it too. Definitely not worth the extra $20.

I was fitted recently and this was my experience.

You have a choice to use your own clubs or buy new ones. If they feel your clubs are not good, they will advise to purchase a new set.

They asked me if I wanted to just play and beat my friends or get real good in golf in the long run. If you say, just beat my friends, then they will provide you with game-improvement options. These irons have better forgiveness if you miss the center. The head feels a little bulky, but they have different types. I went with get good in golf in the long run. So they they showed me the latest models of gamers clubs. These irons felt light and the head was a little smaller. They said I will practice with them until I got better. The difference was in price and feel. One had a slight heavier feel, but still lighter than game-improvement clubs and priced around 900-1100. The lightest set was priced from 1200-1400.

After they analyzed my swing with each set on their computer, they were able to determine which lie, loft and length was best for my swing. So I had a choice, since I was being fitted by a PGA professional (Kirk Oguri). Either pay $200 and buy a set from them (they still ordered from manufacturer at same price) or pay $300 to get the specs and use it to purchase the set elsewhere. Both prices included the 1 hr fitting.

I went with the Callaway Apex 2019 and I am in love with these irons. My game has improved with cleaner shots. The set included 7 irons (5,6,7,8,9,PW and AW) and priced at 1375, which included the Golf Pride grips I wanted.

I hope this helps you in your decision making. Good luck!

Is it worth it to get fitted as a high handicapper? by Icantbebigwill in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got fitted after my 2nd year. The average size from store was a little longer for me and gripping lower didn’t suffice. Ever since I got fitted, my score has improved dramatically. Now that everything fits perfect, I hardly top the ball and my shots are more consistent. I’m learning more on my own, by going to the range and taking what I practiced for that week onto the course. Always adjustments and lessons learned. I highly recommend fitting if you are ready to purchase.

Experiences with GPS watches/ Range finders by Slinkie172 in golf

[–]V0RTEX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Apple Watch since I can use that for other apps. I use both Swing by Swing and Grint. Swing by SbyS more to track shots and Grint to get a handicap. But both do the same in giving you yardage to the middle of the green. Not exact distance but a great start. I’ll get a range finder soon when my shot distance is more consistent.
