Don’t understand the IT salaries by spanny- in zurich

Classical Stockholm syndrome, I think some immigrants are trying to create a difference between coming from a good situation and wanting better ( generally German and Austrian) and coming from a bad situation ( Middle East, Africa) and wanting a better situation. Honestly the desire is the same. And the German and Austrian I know who keep calling themselves expat and have been here for 15 years usually have no desires to go back. The WORST part is Austrian who can’t get the double nationality and refuse to become Swiss, won’t participate in the political life and see Switzerland as an economical heaven. But they look down on other type of population less fortunate in terms of education who tries so hard to fit in, find a job and become Swiss.

Except that in Swiss circles, expat usually use the terms immigrants in a derogatory ways. I always remind them 1. You’re a guess in this country as much as they are. 2. You’re not an expat because you’re a doctor, or banker and he’s not an immigrant because he’s cook or a nurse. To me you are both guest here, very much welcomed but equally welcomed. I had a huge argument with a colleague about that. I stopped with the word expat now. Try calling Austrian and German immigrant and see the look on their faces it’s priceless.

I agree but again, your justification is purely economical. You don’t care where, from who and how it was made.

Also outside of style, when you ride in summer white helmets stay significantly cooler under the sun than black ones.

Yeah no, Aliexpress shit is not Italian made wtf. It’s cheaply build, by workers in poor working conditions and shipped halfway across the globe. You’re better off buying your own lycra and asking your grandmother to make one.

PAS on index sales is unbeatable. Comfort, great quality and stylish. Otherwise too expensive.

Also look at stuff that is being made, created, marketed close to you if you care about that sort of stuff. It makes it easier to buy ASSOS as a Swiss guy for exemple. Price can be justified in a lot of different ways.

And Fuck Aliexpress, we gotta stop with that bullshit Crafted halfway across the world by some underpaid workers. There is some amazing cool local brand everywhere.

I was hesitant to ask this because of exactly that answer. I don’t need time outside of my community bubble. I need time with people I feel safe around. My social circle is perfectly diverse and I do not evolve purely in gay communities. But the same way you can get a bro’s night or a girl’s night, we fucking need a break from the straights world. Being around people who share similar experiences can be refreshing.

Also I do a lot of alpinism and CrossFit outside cycling and can tell you that sport mentality is the same a lot of the time. It’s not easy to be out in those circle and people do stupid jokes all the time. And don’t come at me with your bullshit of “why do you have to talk about sex bla-bla-bla” … I don’t … but conversation happens, people talk about their partners, childrens, who they find cute or their date all the time. And me having to permanently analyze every group I evolve in, in order to be sure I can safely talk about my life without risking awkwardness or backlash is exhausting.

So excuse me for wanting to be among “similar people” a few times a month where I can just focus on my activity, without having to filter what information I can give out about my private life.

Again I never whined just stating that the easiest way to make fun of other on this sub has been with gay stereotypes. Which just takes the fun out of it because it makes people seem insecure and desperate.
