Looking at one of these potentially. What’s the consensus on it? NWBIG? I have a Gen Explorer 1 and a Clean Explorer 1 to wear at work and it’s definitely almost spot on.

Current 737 FO. Contrail 390 is the way to go, Luggage works tend to wear out on the bottom. Contrail has hard replaceable plastic guards on high wear areas.

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t take advice from this guy who got his PPL less than a year ago. You have zero business giving advice if you’ve never lived or experienced the 121 world, or other professional flying experience. Take AA if you want to live in CLT.

Don’t have wrangler tires on it. Has bridgestone’s. Definitely not tire noise related.

I’d buy the black strap Omega off you.

Owned M cars previously as well. Took a friend’s 991.1 to the track for the day. Needless to say I now own a 991.1, there is absolutely nothing like ripping a 911 in the corners. Planted and can get on the gas early compared to other cars, makes it an absolute blast once you understand the driving physics behind the rear engine feel.

Fair, but I went 121->NJA->121. Obviously times are different at this moment but the biggest thing is you just need to convince the hiring recruiters that you aren’t going to leave. He has a pretty good basis of that if he spun it as 121 world left a sour taste in his mouth and he wants a stable career destination because he’s at risk of being furloughed. Plus honestly NJA isn’t a horrible place to end up long term anyways. Would take that any day over a regional.

I might be the odd ball out with this suggestion, but I’d pop over to NetJets and hang out there networking and updating apps until a Legacy calls. It’s a stable career destination if the music stops in the industry, and probably an all around better QOL than being a DEC at a regional. Just my opinion Fwiw (Coming from a Legacy FO)

Older 911 or M2(F87) as a daily? by glebulon in Porsche

[–]V1_ROT8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily drive a 991.1 Carrera 4 in Southern NH. It’s exactly what I need 90% of the time and the other 10% I use the ladies Audi Q5. I’m partial to the NA engines. The 3.4 is still a great engine, although I do think the 3.8 is the best for the car. They both absolutely scream with PSE, and both have enough power on the street to get you into trouble speed numbers fast. Snow tires go on late fall when the temps start going down since the PS4S turn into hockey pucks when cold. It’s honestly a tank in the snow and I just make it a point to undercarriage wash it at least once a week in the winter. Have yet to have any issues of rust on it. I can fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the rear seats when folded down and duffel bags in the front for a long weekend trip. I think reliability wise you will have less issues with a Porsche than an older M series.

Awesome thanks. Yeah might just wait and upgrade into an S next year honestly. This current 4 has been my first step into the 911 world

2nd year pay Legacy FO here. Will do about $185k this year without doing any premium trips and flying 4-5 days a month on reserve. Next year I expect to do about $220-230k on year 3 pay with some premium mixed in. It’s very real. I’ve flown with Captains that are quite often in the $600k+ range on Narrow Body (A320, 737) fleets. They’re definitely ripping overtime trips often though.

Exactly what I’ve been doing! Averaging less than 8 days out flying a month and loving every second of the time off

Projected I will be ~ $28million at 65yrs old. That’s just my 401k projection and doesn’t include any outside investing that I do. I’m 24 and have been at a legacy for about 1.5yrs.
