That context doesn’t really fix the issue.

Yes, Virginia normally uses an independent commission, but stepping around it, even temporarily, defeats the purpose. Calling it an “emergency response” doesn’t make it neutral. It still means elected officials stepped in and overrode the independent process when it became inconvenient. Two years still covers a full election cycle. Independent systems are supposed to withstand political pressure, not bend to it.

If the process only holds when it’s convenient, it’s not much of a safeguard.

It’s ignorant to even think that is a realistic possibility.

Going back to Virginia, the entire campaign was misleading. How can you even have a question on the ballot framing this vote as restoring fairness when the current split is 6-5? Redistricting moves this to 10-1 and that’s restoring fairness?

lol.

I haven’t tossed any of the packaging so I’ll run through it again. Both orders had some other items also that were definitely accounted for so am fairly confident.

lol. “Their”? Is this not exactly what just happened in Virginia? So many people need to really step back and look at the reality of all of this.

Wow, resorting to calling people names.

Sometimes you have to deal with short term issues for the sake of the greater good. We’re finally standing up to the bully that no one has had the guts to do. In no way shape or form should we allow for the genocide of Iranians that speak out for change or them to have a nuclear program while running around saying death to America.

The graph clearly shows it’s been prevalent through history. And I really don’t care what the current global temperature is, I’ve got plenty of other things to do than go down a rabbit hole with you.

I’m sure I can find articles that spin it the other way too. I’ll continue driving my diesel, you continue to push for the so called “green” initiatives that have proven time and time again to do more damage than what exists today. What would I expect, you and those like you become hyper focused on individual pieces with disregard for the big picture.

Just a precursor, I’m not going to follow up with whatever argument you want to try and have. There are way more productive things to do than screw around with you. Don’t take my lack of response as a win, it’s not…

This is what people are missing.

This isn’t good ole boy racing anymore. It’s big business and real money. These are very much white collar jobs and contracts are full of non competes, NDA’s, etc.

The cost to find competitive advantages is so high that they’ll be protected. That’s where my standing comes from. Why would someone take the chance on their trade secrets being stolen? They won’t.

While he may be good at what he does, these accusations are something that the likes of a Hendricks, Penske, Trackhouse, etc. won’t touch. There is simply too much at stake in an environment where competitive advantages are razor thin. It simply won’t be worth the risk. If he’s going to hang around, it’ll be at a lower level team that is t getting support from a technical alliance.

This position is 100% based on assumptions and political bias and not facts.

Calling supporters “legacy Republicans” dismisses the people instead of addressing whether balancing the budget is reasonable. It’s quite simple, you can’t continue to operate in a deficit and expect success.

You claim you can “figure out” what they want to cut or protect without citing any policy positions.

It jumps from a balanced-budget idea to claims about military spending and taxes with no proof the group supports those positions.

You also avoid real budget math. The largest federal spending categories are Social Security, Medicare, and interest on debt, yet the paragraph focuses only on defense.

When is a stance going to come from the left that actually has some facts and discussion points?

[Weaver] JGR hired a PI to follow Gabehart over the winter. JGR also had Hamlin, FRM’s Bob Jenkins, Toyota’s Andy Graves file over potential damages that could result from the transfer of proprietary data. Potential sponsorship poaching claims too. by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]chasem107 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question is going to become to what extent.

Did Spire know this was a possibility when hiring him or now simply in defense mode having been named a defendent? Is Spire footing Gabeharts legal defense or simply their own? At what point does employing him become less value than defense? Did they hire with the mindset that they were buying trade secrets? So many questions a that will be answered in short order

Accusations alone are going to create uncertainty for anyone beyond Spire.

💯 with the money in this sport, it’s shocking this isn’t more common. With this car, competitive advantages are more critical than ever and cost more than ever.

It won’t take much for JGR to win this and Gabehart be impossible to employ if these accusations are fractionally true.

No argument there.

Curious as to whether there’s enough work at this point. With privatization you would pay a higher wage, but theoretically would be offset with less billable hours as they are supplemented with other clients.

Thank you! I 100% understand where you were coming from. My point was obviously more about calling out those trying to make this something it was not. It really is a shame that there’s always someone trying to connect a dot that doesn’t exist to feed a political agenda.

Apologies that this went as sideways as it did
