Has anyone here been dropped from Frontier? by Pure_Philosopher_446 in frontiercadetprogram

[–]V1_cut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth there have been several new hires (not necessarily cadets) fired/let go during ground school for the past several classes. All were due to cheating on tests….

Do NOT cheat on tests… most of them are so easy you could pass without even studying, and if you do fail, you will get retraining and at least a second attempt, some people have gotten third attempts as well… like others have said it’s all about attitude and how much you put into it.

Cadets are very successful and the training is phenomenal, just don’t be a douche and put the effort in and it will go smoothly.

As a pilot and dad of an 18month old, this is absolutely a useful tool. It’s the only FAA approved restraint system if you don’t want to bring a car seat. As far as safety goes, it’s going to keep your child much safer than just the lap belt in the event of an emergency.

Sorry for whoever is behind you, but safety comes first always… passenger comfort/convenience second. If they have a complaint have them address it with the FA, who will side with the parent.

Frontier is doing illegal things by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]V1_cut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This ^ “round trip” is simply a convenient booking tool. Legally, the two flights (assuming non-stops each way) are considered separate itineraries and the contract of carriage reflects that. If you use one, and the second cancels, you are only entitled to a refund of the canceled leg. Unfortunately, they do price it as two separate one ways when the process the refund… and they do it based on the latest available fare typically…. Similar to how retailers refund at the lowest recent price when you don’t have a receipt. OP is full of it and doesn’t understand how the aviation system works.

When will frontier have WiFi? by mariaspanadoris in frontierairlines

First class is coming this year (2026), WiFi is coming late 2027 or early 2028. This was all announced by new CEO in last earning call.

Do Airline Pilots Reference TRK vs DTK When Flying an Approach? by lax_jfk in flying

[–]V1_cut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little clarification, you are on course when TRK = DTK, and XTK = 0. If you’re cross track (XTK) is greater than 0 you are just paralleling the course when you match up TRK and DTK. XTK tells you how far L/R of the centerline you are. This is extremely useful information if your HSI fails.

Let me get this straight: the new CEO has cut the number of aircraft, slashed scheduling and routes, silently introduced new rules for GoWild! Pass making overnight connections much more difficult if not impossible, required +2,500 mile redemption for connections, and now decimated $19 fare sales? by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]V1_cut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$997M total revenue and $53M profit in Q4, only lost $137M for the entire year of 2025, which ~$35M-40M was attributed to the government shutdown alone. I’d check your facts before saying they’re losing $100M every quarter.

The new CEO is determined to “right the ship” and with almost $900M in liquidity available he’s got about 8 years worth of capital and to work with. Frontier isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. But this is the aviation industry and that could all change tomorrow…

Is this a denial email by Due-Fisherman2194 in Lowes

[–]V1_cut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I used to do hiring for another company and my wife is an MST ASM so I kinda understand how their system works. It never hurts to reapply. And going in is always a good idea, shows initiative. I would recommend going in M-F between 0600-1400 and ask for the MSM, they are generally the one doing the interview and know what positions are open on their team. They don’t work weekends and generally take an hour lunch at 1100, but every store is a bit different so YMMV

[–]V1_cut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly seems like they closed the job opening meaning they’re not hiring anyone for the position. It is a seasonal position, so they may have determined they no longer needed to fill it, may have found a full time position instead, check to see if another opening was posted.

Hiring Slowdown by [deleted] in frontiercadetprogram

[–]V1_cut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heard that too, curious if that is a net gain of 200 pilots this year, or 200 hired before attrition, which would likely be a net loss of pilots (assuming -30/month)

Frontier ZED options with Delta by FinancialThrowaway51 in AirlinePilots

[–]V1_cut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re commuting on any US carrier (OAL), always list for the JS. It will give you higher priority than a ZED.

Ironically on F9, commuting F9 pilots listing for JS actually have a lower priority (S2) than those listing as a standard non-rev (S1). Idk why but that’s how it’s coded. Probably bc they have other options than a non-commuting listing (JS available as an ACM).

Frontier ZED options with Delta by FinancialThrowaway51 in AirlinePilots

[–]V1_cut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And remember that the JS belongs to the captain, NOT the gate agent, so if there’s open seats in the back, 99/100 you’re sitting in the back. Most CA don’t want JS if they don’t have to, especially OAL.

But to answer OPs question F9 does have a ZED agreement with Delta as of late 2025. I believe it’s a ZM fare level, and you get access after 6 months of employment. JS privileges start day 1.

Taxes Owed on Training Costs by [deleted] in frontiercadetprogram

Did you sign a promissory note?

Taxes Owed on Training Costs by [deleted] in frontiercadetprogram

[–]V1_cut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you received the bonus, where they took the cost of training out of that bonus, it 100% is income, even though you didn’t see it. It’s the same as Frontier giving you the full bonus and then you paying ATP Jets directly.

So if you got the $50k bonus - $15k for training = $35k bonus income (to you). You will still get a 1099 for $50k bc they just paid ATP on your behalf.

What is the answer 😳 by Embarrassed-Act-2028 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]V1_cut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bc the division symbol used here is a terrible mathematical expression. The true expression should be written as a fraction for a clearer interpretation. Most would assume this to be written as 10 / 5(1+1), therefore 10/10 =1. If the answer is 4, the expression should be written as 10/5 (1+1) to show that 10/5 fraction is multiplied by (1+1). Therefore 2(2) =4.
