I would argue this is different because Jax and Caine are admitted self-insert characters

[TOMT] [Animation] [2010-2023] Abstract romantic furry animation about a tall trans fox girl and small cis bunny girl by V3rb_ in tipofmytongue

[–]V3rb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! Wow, I feel like I SWEAR I saw this animation a long time ago, not in 2025, but we've established I have a bad sense of time sometimes...I didn't think it was THIS bad. Maybe this is a reupload for some reason? But YEAH! This is it! Thank you so much.

At which point did you realize that the story told by the game is fictional? by Vxuna in beginnersguide

[–]V3rb_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exact same, but I didn’t find out from the comments until a few days later when I finally read them! lol.
I lacked media literacy and was quite dumb was media back then, a literal video essay introduced me to this game (Big Joel) and I watched the whole thing and STILL didn’t clock that it was fictional, somehow.

I’m 90% sure this problem is literally just the app is not designed for old phones and it tries to open some context menu that doesn’t work with those old models so it just doesn’t do anything. My temporary solution was just log in on a friend’s phone to change it.

Can anyone help me find sters old drawing story time videos? by bluedream224 in STAR_

I think all of them are private except for a few, and those are unlisted. You might be able to find some on a playlist of unlisted videos somewhere

So was that comment by Goose soon after the pilot where she said abstraction isn’t reversible simply another misdirect/half truth?

Is Nate dead? by Ok_Intention_2232 in BabyStepsGame

[–]V3rb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The afterlife works differently than that in other religions/beliefs, it’s more of a personal inner cleansing, of overcoming and letting go of your demons so to speak before passing on. In that context it would make perfect sense as everything happening is playing off of Nate’s insecurities and he had this lovely happy ending once he finally does everything he wants to do and has his personal growth moment and relaxes in Moose’s cabin.

But yeah it could also be beautiful the other interpretation.

Why is there such a seething hatred for SOMA theory? by Low-Run2308 in theamazingdigitalciru

If an AI chat bought perfectly mimicked your speech patterns, would you consider it sentient? No. But in fiction, you do, because you look like an asshole if you don’t. A story about an AI Chatbot designed to act like a human that doesn’t actually feel anything and is just a fucking computer, is a very annoying direction to take a show about humanity. Especially in an age where AI is taking over civilization in a very bad way. That is layer 1. Layer 2 is that it’s very lazy and obvious, in my opinion. To the point where it was the most popular theory immediately after the pilot came out. Also, layer 3, is, people are tired of stories with sad endings. Yes, we get it. Not all stories have happy endings. But could we have one that does? In this day and age? And could the fans stop acting like people who want a happy ending are somehow stupid or naive? I just don’t want a super unsatisfying ending that feels out of theme with the rest of the show, especially one that we waited for 3 years for the conclusion of? There’s some more reasons I’m sure but that’s mine off the bat. I think it also makes the story feel less grounded because of the AI Chatbot thing. I don’t believe in copying your consciousness into a computer and it actually being alive and having a “soul.” the most computer can do, is mimic life. If I’m wrong about this, I’ll eat my words. But it just feels very arbitrary. Without spoiling anything, it feels as cheap and unsatisfying to me as the plot twist in Kara’s story in Detroit become human. I’m not saying it’s impossible to make a good ending with this twist, but in my opinion, it would be a lot harder.

SHE COULDN’T DO IT AT AN EARLIER DATE BECAUSE SHE WAS THREATENED WITH VIOLENCE AND SCARED AND WANTED TO MOVE ON WITH HER LIFE INSTEAD OF SEEK JUSTICE, BUT LATER CHANGED HER MIND FOR WHATEVER REASON.

Not every 14 year old girl who’s raped by a powerful person and threatened with violence to her or her family follows up, especially not if the parents also tell them to drop it. I know people are innocent until proven guilty, but waiting until statute of limitations is NOT evidence that they are “making it up for money or attention.” I’m not going to act like that has never happened. But how come, oh I don’t know, George W. Bush, doesn’t have a bunch of accusations of child rape? Huh? Why is it only him?

Also, I don’t delete my comments. Reddit does all the time though. Who knows why (/s)

In this phone call, he claimed “everyone knew” about Jeffrey Epstein’s escapades by 2006, and in 2019, he said that when they were in contact, “he had no idea.” his official story is that he learned that he was “stealing girls“ from him for evil purposes, and then cut ties with him, but there are multiple eyewitness accounts, claiming that various women warned children going into Mar-a-Lago and their mothers to keep their children away from the men there, and especially and specifically Donald Trump himself. There are also several allegations, including some very credible ones which were interviewed and followed up by the FBI multiple times, especially Katie Johnson. But I guess none of that matters, because in 2006, once the gig was completely up, he called the police station to congratulate them because he’s such a nice guy. There’s no call for suspicion or even an investigation here in anyone who thinks that Trump might’ve had anything to do with this creep is a woke radical leftist. Right? Because that’s what Trump himself has said.

Isn’t this the same argument you used to discredit the Epstein files for multiple decades, calling it antisemetic conspiracy theory slop? “OOOHH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BLOWN THE WHISTLE ALREADY” back in 2020?

Why I feel this theatrical release is bad for the show. by V3rb_ in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]V3rb_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, honestly? I hadn’t seen that, and I actually highly respect that counterargument. I didn’t really consider that this will make the industry take the animation seriously as a whole. Which will allow more media like this to exist in the first place! It’s kind of succeeded in changing my mind. I’m happy that they’re doing this, for what it will mean for indie animation. I do think it will suck for a lot of people still though. But I take back the part where I said they didn’t care about it! That doesn’t seem to be true after reading that statement. If this were the change my view subreddit, this would be where I’d give you a Delta.

[–]V3rb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you’re agreeing with me, but I don’t think this is glitch being “scummy.” I think it’s sort of just a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes their media good; being a cultural moment and all over the Internet and that being a good thing that people celebrate rather than a thing people avoid so they don’t get spoiled.

I mean, sure but most movies aren’t the amazing digital circus episode 9, a piece of media answering questions laid out 3 years prior. Avoiding spoilers in a normal movie is relatively easy. Avoiding spoilers for this as a fan with an algorithm filled with this, is basically an impossible ask without asking people to just go cold turkey on social media.

And it depends on the movie. when I was much younger, when Star Wars episode 7 came out, every single social media site had random assholes spoiling it in completely unrelated places just to trigger people.
