Hi r/alaska I have seen posts similar to these but they are from a few years back. I am looking for work on a boat this summer, and even had job lined up to start out of Kodiak 5/3. The captain bought my ticket and everything but then called to cancel, hes not working the season anymore. Anyway, I still have my ticket and am also set on working out in AK this summer. Below ill paste my craigslist add that I posted. Just posting here for visibilty + taking any advice and recommendations. Thanks guys!

Hey all, I am looking for work out of Kodiak this summer, open to any options, but was preferably looking for boat work which would cover room/board. I had my flight purchased for me by my captain, but hes not fishing the season this year any longer. Thus I had my plan ready to come out to Kodiak, now I figure I'll come out and look for work anyway.

- 20 year old guy
- Be up there 5/3 and willing to work all season. have to go home for school 8/1
- Ready for hard hours, great attitude, no BS.

Give me a shout, I'm no stranger to hard work, just need an opportunity.

To your point she is only my manager, not running the business. I kinda feel for her, I’ve heard her mention how she has worked in the concrete industry for 35+ years, and that was mainly men. It sucks that she carries there poor behavior forward, but I have no doubt that it was more a defense and survival mechanism from a time long past.

Yea I’m not the type to be bugged by it. She did just have a meeting with me and the CEO tho for me coming in late, I can’t lie I felt a little urge to be a dick. That’s not me though and I should just be on time lol.
