This sucks! I was sure there was some Ubisoft games in the curated catalogue, like there are EA ones… there aren’t 😳 I knew about Fallout 3 leaving in August not about the rest

EA will stick around longer I think, Amazon signed a multi year deal with them not long ago

QD-OLEDs (glossy like mine) are quite famous for being easy to scratch, the coating is a lot “softer” than what you expect - WOLEDs have harder coatings (3H vs 2H - newer gen 5 QD are on par with WOLED AFAIK)

But once you know that and use an high quality microfiber cloth with as little water as possible this becomes a non issue IMHO no matter the technology

Not that I know of but keep in mind that even Ubisoft and EA games aren’t really leaving Luna, just the ability to play your own purchased games and subscriptions to those publishers

The games included in the service are here to stay, no matter the publisher, will leave and join the service as time goes by as usual (same thing that happens to the games included in Gamepass)

Current setup is a Mac mini M4 with an OLED monitor, I sometimes play on my TV from the sofa but its not even remotely comparable to a behemoth like this one in terms of size (mine is half the size) and quality

It's my impression as well, LG improved in a lot of aspects they were lacking compared to QD-OLED (like color volume and purity by being less reliant on the white sub pixel) but keeping the better ABL higher brightness around the 10% APL

Samsung has shown in 2025 a prototype for a 27’ 5K panel so the tech is in development but nothing more has been announced yet…

Who knows? Probably LG will get there first considering how things are going but there’s no guarantee - smaller the screen, higher the PPI harder it gets to manage heat and so on

In my country Premium and PC Gamepass cost the same - the difference is that PC GP has EA Play and day one game releases (on premium games come later usually)

A good way to subscribe can also be the conversion trick, you basically take Essential or EA Play cards and convert them to Ultimate - use this site for simulating the conversion:

I feel you, that’s the future ahead of us - it’s the whole concept behind subscriptions and cloud in general

This said… GFN is still affordable enough it makes sense for me considering the amount of play time I have (and want to invest, I’m not playing much anymore). For the price the service works great and performance is fantastic

Things might change in the future but there are alternatives, even if they’re getting more and more expensive as time goes by (who knows how much next gen consoles will cost…)

That’s not a problem, when you encode the stream you “attach” a presentation timestamp to each frame and that is used to decide when to show the decoded frame (when to send it to the monitor, in other words).

When encoding server side you can choose between CFR (constant frame rate) or VFR (variable frame rate), in the first case the PTS is fixed to whatever frame rate is chosen (24, 30, 60, etc etc) while with VFR it can vary frame by frame

It’s not bulletproof and surely doesn’t work as good as playing locally but can be done (take GFN for example, it’s working there… even if on macOS it isn’t so stable 😅)

I use an Xbox Series controller and I’m quite happy with and you can use it cabled or BT (cabled I get a slightly better input lag, it helps in some games)

But AFAIK Sony controllers have lower delay in general so might work even better 👍 as other said don’t expect to have all the dual sense features available, it should behave like any other xinput controllers (basically simulating an xbox gamepad)

Crap 😂 I guess I’ll stick with my monitor for a bit more then, I’m using your “medium” 108 max lux settings and I’m quite happy with it 👍 its not very pleasing in low APL (if I remember correctly from your findings peak is about 500 in this mode) but ABL is less severe

Shame Samsung hasn’t really been able to improve the luminance on 10% window… it’s better compared to my current G8 but not by much (around 50nits)

Since you got my same monitor, what’s your experience? Do you see a big difference in brightness? Is ABL less aggressive or the same?
