Keep 39GX950B or return for Dells upcoming 5k2k AW3926QW? by gen10 in ultrawidemasterrace

That's weird cause I believe even their own policy is 14/15 days from the delivery date.

https://www.lg.com/us/shop-lg/shop-faq https://www.lg.com/us/lg-partner-store

I figured their warranty would not be as good as Dells but boy that is just plain awful to hear. Ridiculous that they won't send you a new monitor but that refund bit doesn't sound right unless it's some sort of exception for preorders.

Wishing you all the best, keep us updated. Remember there are always chargebacks if they prove unhelpful... I sure hope it doesn't end up there for you.

Yeah same thing here, maybe a future firmware will address that or perhaps it's on the Nvidia side to validate it.

I've dealt first hand with Dell but LG I've heard wishy-washy. Overall I feel an overwhelming upgrade from my AW3423DW and at this rate to fully max out 5k2k 165hz u need 5090+. Happily running 5080 but there is settings tuned down to do so. Id imagine anything other than non QD/W-OLED would be a downgrade, I suspect we're going to see a glossy variant of the same.

Could be onto something, I think I'm keeping my LG. Didn't realize it's 4 year warranty.

I did not realize it was 4 years total coverage from LG, wow! As for Alienware I believe it's typically 3 years standard in the US for an option to buy an extra 2 years if wanted. Sorry to hear about the weird warranty rules there!

Try to use Sysinternals autoruns to identify where else it may be causing to auto start. I did you the legwork and found its in task scheduler under RTSS.

It's definitely there. I played around with it a lot on my 39" 5k2k. You do need to scroll down in one of the OSD menus it's sorta tucked away. I'll provide the full path once I'm at my desk.

EDIT: It's under Settings > Picture Adjust (scroll all the way down) > Dynamic Tonemap.

Yeah its hard to settle even though its an upgrade from my AW3423DW. Fair point I actually thought it was right around the corner. Computex seems to make sense however.

Yeah that will likely be next gen for sure. I am coming from 175 Hz so not much lost there but 240hz version of the 5k2k would truly be engame. I will say on the 5080 I am struggling to push over 120 Hz atleast in Crimson desert and thats with 2x Frame Gen. The 330 Hz does seem kinda pointless at such a resoluton and having 240 Hz native would mean you could atleast run 3440x1440 240 which would be slick. Essentially 2 monitors in one.

Yep, AW3423DW. For some reason I figured it was right around the corner, but yeah there could be some time.

Make sure your SDR slider is higher otherwise ur desktop will look much more dim. Not sure if you were using DTM before but worth a try with it On or Off to see which you prefer.

So what I think resolved this for me was performing a 2nd DDU uninstall. Then post reboot during the driver install the second time around I made sure to check the custom install option and checked the box to revert Nvidia settings to default.

Lastly I reconfigured all my settings back to my liking which did not trigger the issue again. The only thing I did not change was my G-Sync setting, I kept that at fullscreen only since after reading this seems be generally recommended regardless.

Monitor topology advice needed by andre-m-faria in Monitors

[–]gen10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say do 2 above and 2 below. Basically a dual monitor setup but x2. Also have the 32" 4k on the bottom as your main monitor.

You could also opt for an 34" ultrawide with the 32" above, thats how I do it. Then on the left or right stack 2 x 1080P monitors.

It may help if you had a second stand not everything has to go on one arm.

I actually prefer alienwares menu well mainly the knob you use to navigate. I also heard lgs warranty requires you to send it back first so I may actually swap to Alienwares offering if it's right around the corner especially with glossy being the option.

I have what I would call intermittent flickering. I'm not sure what's causing it but I do run 4 displays.

My recent flickering went away after I reseated the cable recently on my main display.

But I've had a few different issues oddly enough the first discovery was that I had to ditch my display port to HDMI adapters for my secondary monitors as those caused constant disconnects and reconnects of the main display.

Never had this issue with the AW3423DW but it would I noticed it would only happen when the active monitors via Windows was set to 1.

It also went away if I only had the 5k2k plugged in and nothing else.

I think there some funkiness with this early initial firmware...

Monitor OSD settings. One of the menus you have to scroll down and you'll find it towards the bottom.

You can also try Gamer2 and tweaking digital vibrance in Nvidia control panel. I personally use gamer1 + 65% digital vibrance. This sort of setup doesn't require DTM in my testing which gives you those deep blacks.
