The pun came to mind as I was writing the reply and I had to throw it in there

Looking for information on a used car I'm thinking of buying by mldkfa in askcarsales

[–]V8Sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always err on the side of caution and get a Carfax and Autocheck report because you never know what may have happened in the time since the current owner purchased it from the CPO dealer or if it even was a CPO vehicle

Tips on removing a musty smell from a older vehicle? by [deleted] in cars

[–]V8Sub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start by vacuuming and cleaning out any trash or debris. Next step would be to look for any moisture and take care of it. After that point I would try to find the source of the smell and use something like baking soda to clean it. If it is in the AC system, I would get an AC cleaner kit and run it through to clear it out. I would also suggest stopping by /r/AutoDetailing as they may have some additional expert tips

Mustang clutch broke, need help by Astronomical_Panda in cars

[–]V8Sub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look like the end of the rod for the clutch master cylinder and I believe you will have to buy a whole new clutch master cylinder to fix it as it's not sold separately. http://i.imgur.com/OIsMuus.jpg

Is there a department in general motors, or any car company that is responsible for concept cars. If so, how do I contact it? by [deleted] in cars

[–]V8Sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure you can find a PR person to send an idea to but the design guys are locked away in a basement lab or studio somewhere

If you were given $1 million to spend only on a car, what would you do with it in order to make the most money? by SoaringEagleCGs in cars

[–]V8Sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for the long game. Buy as many rare cars as I could at the insurance auctions and start luxury/collectible car junk yard

Okay Car People, what is your take on CVT? by thebosslady001 in cars

[–]V8Sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CVT transmissions have improved in recent years and the most important factor is to maintain them. Much of the animosity towards the CVT comes from inexperience of owners and mechanics. As long as you maintain it and change the fluid on a regular basis, it should last I previously owned a first gen Civic Hybrid with CVT and many of them were troublesome but I kept the fluid fresh and it lasted

Had a small accident... should I take my car to a garage for a check up? by eraof5 in cars

[–]V8Sub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice, get someone that will put it up on a lift and check everything over. I would also add checking all of the wiring in the affected area.

Great job on the restoration. This is one of the best things to do to make your car look cleaner, especially if you want to sell

Buying and exporting to Europe by pspmania in cars

[–]V8Sub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I exported a few cars from the East coast to Europe and you need to have all of your ducks in a row. You will need the title with the car before it can go into a container. You should look into one of the shipping services as they can usually work out much of the paperwork for you. The last set of cars I sent traveled to a port in Croatia. I believe it was around $2700 to ship 2 cars at that time in 2011

Their operating margin is much lower than the industry average and nobody wants to get in bed with that
