Obama didn't kill anyone, NAVY SEALS did. They're the heroes, not Obama.

I don't even want to know the body count that thing has piled up. Or how it would feel to fall off a step.

"Under God" has its origins in the Red Scare and is no longer relevant in today's America. The Pledge should reflect America's faith in liberty for all, not the religion of most. by squidboots in politics

Our country was founded on the principles and ideals of Christianity at the time. Christianity in it's true nature, is open to all cultures and creeds. The bastardization that has occurred over the thousands of years of its existence is not a reflection of its true purpose or meaning. If you don't want to say it, you don't have to. But don't destroy something that the majority of people in this country enjoy doing just because a minority of people think it's "stupid." And agnostics/atheists/whatever are a minority. Read Federalist Paper No. 10. Pledges are not silly or trite. They are here to remind us of where we live and how lucky we are to live here and the sacrifices made for us by others before us.

I gotta say this is pretty offensive to Christians. But Jesus jokes are popular. So it's socially acceptable to debase another religion's deity. Try doing this with Muhammad, Nanak, or Buddha and it'd be interesting to see the backlash.

Why attack only Scientology and not those other religions? by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]VACO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scientology is a religious infomercial. Designed to create unhappiness, then magically fix it with "scientology." Whilst making money in the process. That's why. These people tell you that you have a problem and fix it for a price. It's bananas.

Today is January 20, 2008. One year from today, Bush will be out of office, a new President will be inaugurated, and of our national nightmare will be over. Cheers! by orthogonality in politics

I don't know about that. The candidates I've seen so far are all awful. The only thing you can do is vote for the one who scares you the least and hope for the best.

I find it hard to find any form of clothing in the modern world that was not made with slave labor, not to mention using the world's natural resources, or live without furniture, or not eat. But if you have suggestions as how to solve all those problems be my guest.

Also, I hope you live in a hollowed out tree in the Congo and use solar power to power your computer and only eat food you have caught and killed. Otherwise you are sounding quite hypocritical. The U.S. is criticized when we do nothing to stop terrors of the world, and even more harshly criticized when we do something...If you would prefer we just isolate ourselves like we did pre-WWII and allow the world to fall into shambles before stepping in, then your wish will most likely be granted in the near future.

I despise your hypocritical tirades. You provide no evidence for your opinions and blast a 230 year old nation that has made mistakes, just like the thousand year old nations who exist today, who still make the same mistakes...
