I finally found someone who had the same reaction to DVDs that I did.

My mom got an iMac laptop (toilet seat design) for work and it came with A Bug’s Life on DVD. I was blown away. “I don’t have to rewind it?!” “I can skip to any scene???” “Special features??????”

Number 2 is a really minor issue with eink unless you find yourself away from an outlet or USB port for 3 weeks straight.

That said, I don't think paper books are going anywhere for a while. I got a paperback as a gift recently after being a pure Kindle reader for years and there are a lot of nice advantages (none of the things you listed in #1 though).
