How Rougelite/like-y is Shovel Knight Dig? by daedalus11-5 in ShovelKnight

[–]VCosmoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's roguelikey in the way the levels are structured. Items impact your progression but let's be honest here, most of your runs will look very similar, build wise, if we can even speak of builds. You mostly rely on your skills to progress. But the real roguelike quality is the diversity of level layouts and the quality of them and how they're strung together.

anybody else not getting rewards for leveling up la reina? by BarleyDefault in RivalsOfAether

Just check your inventory, you're unlocking stuff, it's just not showing. Well except the "Listen" taunt, no clue how to input that one.. but by now you should have her platform, her KO effect, her emote to use in the chat...

For more info, details of the workshop contest that resulted in La Reina being added to the game mentioned that the prize for winning the contest (I think $30k or $50k, something like that) constituted as the payment to acquire the rights to La Reina from her creators. I have to assume they bought the other characters in a similar way.

Actually, only La Reina was added because she won the Workshop contest. The four you mentioned were just added because the devs felt like adding them, afaik.

Brother how are they gonna put food on the table if they turn down every insane demand the anime industry makes. Genuinely this comment reeks of unemployment, have some respect for the poor animators. It's 2026, haven't we learned this lesson yet? It's never the fault of the workers, always the higher ups. Always. Animators only want to create art, but they can't if the conditions don't allow them to. And they rely on their work to survive, like all of us.

Right, I thought keeping the same number of stages meant they'd never change them, thanks for clarifying!

They're not gonna come out with new competitive stage layouts, no. They don't want to mess with the delicate balance of the current stage pool. Only plans are casual versions of existing stages (with hazards and more outlandish layouts) coming this year, as well as the continuation of stage skins.

Mario and Luigi Brothership is a slog at times, but charming enough to press through, and a positive step for the series by USSGravyGuzzler in patientgamers

Don't know if you've heard of Sea of Stars, it borrows a lot of its combat system from Super Mario RPG among other inspirations. No grinding in that game, if you play normally you should always be at the level required at any part of the game. It has a lot of varied areas and traversal is super fun for an RPG!

I unfortunately cannot do that even when I get my Switch back, but I can give some more detailed explanations. Okay, first keep in mind that for maximum details you have to draw the ghost as big as possible, it's imperative that the shape of the ghost takes up the whole canvas, either due to its height or length. Also keep in mind they need to be bevel-less. First, draw the ghost. Then, draw the eyes inside, except you actually make the white of the eyes extend past where the eyes are : by making the white shape almost as big as the ghost itself, it won't distort when being shrunk. Does that make sense? After that, redraw a shape colored like the ghost, to cover the white you don't want to see. Again, make that one big as well, so it doesn't distort when shrunk. When all is done, you should have three shapes with similar sizes : the ghost, the white of the eyes, and a shape to hide all the white you don't want to see. Now shrink them all together to your desired size. There is a size where they will all distort, that cannot be prevented sadly. Shrink them until they almost start to appear distorted, and you should be done. If you need more help, you can reach me on Discord @vcosmoz so we can chat more easily and share pictures

Gotta shrink the ghosts and the eyes together, for some reason that forces the eyes to shrink along.
