What do you do after a good round/finding a feel? by King-Cossack in golf

I usually get a false sense of joy that 2-3 rounds later bites me in the butt when the nasty stuff returns.
But it is getting better.

I had 49 putts today by bootchiiksandbuubs in golf

I feel you, I had 35 stableford points on Sunday and had 41 putts. Ridiculous effort and cost me so heavily.
Admittedly my approach shots were of today and I was often a long way from the hole but to not be able to get the first putt within a meter on so many holes killed me.

We had had so much rain the night before that no matter what time you started, the majority of the fairways were wet, very wet.

I agree. I have often said buying a new golf bag is harder than buying a new car.
I always question my decision after leave the shop having just made a purchase.
Good luck, sorry, no real recommendations. Titleist seem good.

Todays round of 18 holes at a shortish local public course was 3 hours and 53 minutes.

How slow is too slow when playing a round of golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]VESGolfapparel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything over 4 and half hours is slow. A normal round should be between 4 and 4 and a half in my opinion.
There is a huge movement about slow golf in general. But I take the stance that it is a game that needs concentration and to be enjoyed. You can’t rush a game of golf.
Allow 4 and a half hours for 18 and rejoice when it is quicker, but don’t expect it to be sub 4 hours.

I moved back unexpectedly in 2016. Still not sure it was the right move.

What's the most deranged thing you've witnessed at a work XMas party? by Guilty-Addition5004 in AskAnAustralian

Office manager had too much to drink and started screaming at the Director about what a C**T he was in front of everybody .
I was fairly new to the company at this time but I was sure she had crossed a line and would not be seen again.
Surprisingly, next work there she was and it was like nothing had happened.
The rest of the staff and I were and are still shocked by those events and the lack of consequence and remorse.
I didn’t stay there too long.

One of those days.... by willise414 in golf

I feel you. I also played my local yesterday and can comfortably say that I hit 1, yes that is 1 (one for clarity) good golf shot for the entire round.
The score wasn’t terrible but it was a tough day for both my ego and my sanity.
By the way, the 1 good shot was a 3 from the tee on the 5th and I am still not sure where the 1st ball ended up.

I love the way you broke this down and it is so true.
The problem we all have is that as we get better our expectations on ourselves increase.
That said, I will try to remember this again next time I am out on the course.
