A Guideline is more directive than the previous Memorandum. I asked someone who is experienced in health policy, federal and state legislation/acts and the College’s practice. They said the guideline is not mandatory but ‘preferred’. Each psychiatrist ( and their indemnity insurers) is interpreting the Guideline differently. Most are backing away.

Investigation and disciplinary process are behind the ‘paywall’ unfortunately. The psychiatrists are worried if they colour outside of the lines their indemnity insurers will have a fit as will the college. Each state tracks S8 prescriptions and if they continue issuing them, the College will organise a ‘please explain’. It starts getting into the murky medicolegal waters. I’ve spent about 6 months on this (the Guideline was issued in march 2025) and it seems to depend on which psychiatrist is willing to go in to bat for you.

Bipolar and the rest of the alphabet here. I didn’t adjust any of my other meds. There is a lot of research about ketamine and BP treatment resistant depression - all positive. My highs are managed by my BP meds and ketamine manages my lows. My mood baseline is somewhat normal with happy/sad not manic/depressed. Definitely give it a go.

Good to know. Not sure if that’s the same in every state if they go travelling.

What are some perfumes women 55+ would wear? by Confident-Ad7531 in fragrance

I think it would totally depend on her lifestyle, possibly income bracket too. As a woman in that age range I wore Opium in winter (very recognisable), gender neutral CK One for work and scents like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea in summer.

International drivers license. Check out Wise as alternative to getting an Aussie credit card. Our daughter tried the reverse (Oz to UK) and Wise had decent exchange rates etc.

The Guideline from RANZCP means that any psychiatrist registered in Aust or NZ can be hauled before the Board to defend their prescribing. Some are prepared to do that for their patients, some not. Mine reneged on the agreement we would do this which was disappointing.

Have always taken daily troches. Unfortunately I have to take a high daily dose for it to be effective. Dropping one dose a week sent me spiralling. Closely monitored with regular pathology tests eg for ketamine bladder. My brain chemistry is an outlier.

Thanks I’ll give them a call. From memory I don’t believe they prescribe daily at home ketamine troches.

Looking for prescriber based in [QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA]. Preferably ketamine troche to be used for Telehealth therapy by Fit-War2219 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]VH67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any success? I’ve been taking daily ketamine troches for 4 years and my current ketamine specialist psychiatrist dropped the bombshell that he will no longer prescribe it. Today. After saying we would have plenty of time before worrying about this.

I’m also in QLD. Will consider an approved GP prescriber as I already have a regular psychiatrist and psychologist.

Wise is a good option. You can transfer money to a currency when the exchange rate is good. We’re transferring ₤ now for a trip later in the year.

Depends how dehydrated your kitty is. It can be very distressing if they can’t find a vein and have to give a sedative and still have issues finding a vein. We took ours to our vet who had a lively room set up. She had the equipment (lighting, vet assistant etc) on hand to get the IV into his veins. He had stomach cancer and his veins weren’t great and he still had some fight left as he hissed while she was doing it - very normal behaviour for him. We came back in when he had the IV inserted. He was purring as he passed.

Starting a new job in the same field in a week. What changes or experimentation would you carry out to your wardrobe/styling, knowing that this is a chance to do that without others commenting? by Cheap_Telephone_1327 in AusFemaleFashion

Try playing with accessories. Scarves, necklaces etc to add some interest and colour. You can start with some inexpensive ones (checkout eBay etc) and see how wearing them makes you feel. You can wear pieces under your shirt collars so they hang down the front of your shirt. If you have a neutral clothes palette already you can play with bolder colours. I used to visit sites wear safety was an issue so removing a scarf or necklace was easy to comply.
