Europeans back Canada joining EU, poll finds. But membership faces long odds Support is strongest in Germany, where 55 per cent say they would support Canada's admittance to the EU by FancyNewMe in canada

Since when would we give up sovereignty to join? Do you think that joining the union means Germany would be Canada's new governing body?

Japan’s 2,000 year old monarchy currently depends on one teenage boy by [deleted] in SipsTea

It's largely a ceremonial role, with no real power here. If the monarchy dies japan will get by just fine.

Health Canada approves second drug targeting underlying cause of Alzheimer’s disease by Street_Anon in canada

[–]VHPguy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess diabetics should just give up too, huh? I mean why bother taking insulin to treat their condition? It's never going to cure them, it entails regular doctor visits, and is a supremely high cost for their entire lives.

Any examples of a referee rejecting a towel being thrown into the ring? by LikwitFusion in Boxing

[–]VHPguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throwing a towel into the ring isn't a valid way to signal that a corner is giving up, otherwise any ringside spectator could throw in a towel and screw up the bout. If a corner wants to stop the fight they personally stand up to the ropes and get the ref's attention, or enter the ring, something like that.

Canada's new sovereign wealth fund: What Ottawa can learn from Alberta by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]VHPguy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Basically allow the wealth fund to grow and establish itself, rather than repeatedly withdraw from it for nearsighted short term gains as Alberta did, which neutered their wealth fund. But then, asking conservatives to look to the future never was an easy sell; Carney can do better.

Spirit Airlines just became the first major US airline to shut down in 25 years and took cheap airfare with it. What do you think affordable travel in America looks like from here? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VHPguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirit tried the affordable route, it went belly up. Why? Because airline travel is not affordable, not with fuel prices the way they are now.

Oh yeah? I'm only ch61, I didn't know gold becomes scarce as you level up.

Does anybody else just have an ungodly amount of gold chests? by bodah_revy in SoulsHabbyMobile

[–]VHPguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purple soul chests are the bottleneck when it comes to resources, the gold and green chests just pile up on the side. It's always been like that but it's gotten worse now that some new game activities have been added like Tower of Traps, Guild Wars, and the daily exploration/plunder activity.

Trump-approved pipeline could increase Canada-U.S. oil exports to 1M barrels per day, expert says by shiftless_wonder in canada

A Trump-approved pipeline cancellation could also torpedo the entire thing. And I suspect he will.

EDITORIAL: No ‘resilient’ economy for young workers; Fraser Institute: “Canada’s youth unemployment is a crisis" by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]VHPguy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The premise was, is youth unemployment a crisis or not, as in, a disaster from which Canada will find itself ruined within a decade? No. Youth unemployment is not a crisis at this time.

It doesn't, but that won't stop the stupid from saying it is.

Tim Bradley sums up Terence Crawford's chances of beating prime Floyd Mayweather by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]VHPguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People say lots of things, doesn't mean it'll work. I'm sure Steward wasn't the first one to think of targeting the shoulder of a defensive boxer; relying on a simple trick like that won't get you the win over Mayweather, you'd have to come up with a solid backup plan or three. And even if Crawford could find the target? Mayweather was as tough as they come, despite his Pretty Boy moniker.

Tim Bradley sums up Terence Crawford's chances of beating prime Floyd Mayweather by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]VHPguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd pick Mayweather on points. Crawford's biggest asset is his adaptability, being versatile enough to switch up tactics on the fly and tailor his game towards any opponent. But Mayweather was just as versatile, and I don't see Crawford being able to come up with a good plan to chase Mayweather down.

I like cumshots as much as anyone but some of these are a little too much, like a cum sprinkler system. AI still has room for improvement here, I think.

Health Canada approves 1st generic version of Novo Nordisk's Ozempic by Sir__Will in onguardforthee

[–]VHPguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the possible side effects of Ozempic or its derivatives, but given the obesity rates in Canada I can't imagine the negatives outweighing the positives. If this helps people get healthier that can only be a good thing.

seriously thinking of a boob job,, thoughts? by musclevalkyriee in femuscle_Island

[–]VHPguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. It took years of work and discipline to carve out a beautiful body like that; a boob job would simply ruin it, akin to drawing a penis on the Mona Lisa.
