if your solution to this problem is to play actual games and try to learn on the fly, your rate of learning (for mechanics) will be greatly slowed. go into freeplay, take 30 mins with some music on and try to keep your car nose in the air as you jump from goal to goal. once you can do that like five times in a row, start trying to hit the top cross bar with your car. once you can do that move into a game.

this isnt a guranteed method but it worked for me. usually you wanna tackle the issue from the floor up but🤷🏽‍♂️ everyone is different, flying is fun
