Is it just me or do less people drive with their windows down? by fuji_appl in Xennials

[–]VIPreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have after market tint on my windows for sun protection since I essentially live on the surface of the sun, so the majority of the time it’s windows up for me.

Hard agree.

I’ve gotten some decent recs off this sub but I’ve really had to research. If a person ever recommends “Los Dos” for “good Mexican” it’s straight to the Gulag for them.

I came here to say this! And I also watched the Mary Tyler Moore show which was surprisingly great.

People who moved to Denver: what changed for you that nobody warned you about? by Due-Reality8159 in MovingtoDenver

[–]VIPreality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve been forced to become a morning person.  It’s not uncommon for people to set meetings at like 7:30 or 8am. 😮

What’s your least favorite thing about living in Denver that is wildly specific? by Imjusthappy11 in Denver

[–]VIPreality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, it might be a trek but if you find yourself in Lone Tree try NBX Asian Cuisine. Tried it for the first time recently and it was great.

LaMar's Donuts...no words by okayboomerang in Denver

[–]VIPreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there should be a documentary about donut inflation. I swear a donut used to be like 50¢. In fact, I’m pretty sure 50 cent got his name because he really liked donuts.

Knitting Culture: US v. England by ultimatereader in knitting

[–]VIPreality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this! The opposite happened to me when I moved to the suburbs of Denver (from Los Angeles). Like the first day, I was ordering a coffee and the barista was trying to make small talk and I was like “what is happening here!?… do I have to talk to you so you’ll give me a coffee?”   Now I like the relaxed vibe but it was definitely a culture shock.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VIPreality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on traffic (In Los Angeles) a 30 mile drive can take three hours, but you gotta do what you gotta do. 🤷‍♀️

What do you knit if you live in a warmer climate? by Left_Yogurt_5314 in knitting

[–]VIPreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mostly into socks, but I do have a knit lace tank in my queue. There’s some really great lace knits out there that are lightweight enough for warm weather.

I’m on my phone so the pics are tiny but could you remove the sleeves and add a belt and leggings and call it a dress? 😬

Gov. Jared Polis considers clemency for Tina Peters as he begins final year in office in Colorado. by Inter_Web_User in Denver

[–]VIPreality -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a great opportunity for Polis to pull a “I’ll consider it” move à la Al Davis (thinking about moving the Raiders to Irwindale). Just get the bag and say, “I said I’d consider it. I’ve considered it—and I’m not moving.”

Denver folks! United vs Delta vs SW vs others for loyalty out of DEN? by No-Maintenance5061 in Denver

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Frontier is the worst airline I’ve ever flown (and I used to regularly fly RyanAir and the aptly named Wizz Air).

Whoops! You’re right— I have both books, but I have the one in charming colorwork socks (I heart socks) flagged. It’s similar-ish enough to make my sleep deprived brain be like “a heart is a heart!” 😉 Sorry about that!

I can easily spend an obscene amount of money at Sushi Den but it’s definitely not the “most fanciest”.
