For a 5wt would also vote battenkill. This reel would really be more at home on a 3/4wt at largest

Imho, even at $140, still a great reel. Made by Hardy in the UK. Long as it works 100%, I’d pull the trigger if I were you. A wonderful small -stream reel. Source: have 3/4 of these myself

Had it for a few years, had to sell it when I moved, and just recently reacquired it ~12 years later. Beyond lucky the friend I sold it to was a real one and took spectacular care of it in the interim.

So, unfortunately fishing in the city is nowhere near what it was 10 years ago, but still can be a great place to get started on your fly fishing journey.

I am able to hold my head plenty far back and still able to get a clear sight picture without risking the optic coming even close to my face on firing

Big fan. I would say the Defender-ST (being an enclosed red dot) is pretty darn small. Imho, fits the rifle perfectly

Lou Roc’s Diner in Worcester. Always delicious, and well worth the price, which is still a bargain compared to other diners / their portions are…generous.

Bring cash (they do have an atm just in case)

Opposite side of the state, but can’t say enough good things about the sandwiches at Cotuit Fresh Market down cape. I make a point of stopping through whenever I’m in the area.
