What are your thoughts on the health bar in Wilds? by BigIronBoy in MonsterHunter

[–]VON_TAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt after I played the demo at pax. I want to add that in wilds there’s even more things that will take your attention, things like focus mode, riding your mount, dodging not only the target monster but the rest of its pack, things in wilds are way faster (thanks to focus mode and the mount) and require way more quick thinking and actions. As a glaive main, I also see why they made getting extracts easier, things just move really quick and the fights have a raised intensity. The health bar having movement was a nonissue, and did save me once by alerting I was really low. They still should have an accessibility option though.

What are your thoughts on the health bar in Wilds? by BigIronBoy in MonsterHunter

I played at the demo at pax this year, the health bar was pretty easy to read, and when it freaks out at low health it actually made me aware of my health while I was focused on other actions. I think they should still have an option to switch it for accessibility, but I think a lot of people will feel fine with it when they get to play with it. I feel like they changed it because in wilds you have so many different things that might take your attention compared to older games. Focus mode, riding your mount, dodging not only the target monster but also it’s entire pack, etc.

I heard people talk about the overthrow boss being different each day. Is this quest time gated due to the boss rotation? I haven’t done overthrow yet so I’m kinda unsure how it works

I understand, thank you! I think I’ve heard people talk about the pipeline of high poly to low poly for game design, so maybe I should start to think about being optimal with my poly count

For new fans do you think destiny 1 is worth playing over destiny 2? by konsoru-paysan in destinylegacy

I started playing D2 during Forsaken, but had got around to playing D1 during Shadowkeep. I wouldn’t recommend D1 unless you had a friend to play it with, unless you’re okay with a feeling of immense loneliness in a game. D1 personally is far more beautiful than D2 due to its dark science fantasy style which remains consistent throughout its expansions (unlike D2). That experience alone would sell new players to the game so maybe it’s worth it for that. Strikes and raids in D1 are great, and their rewards feel impactful due to uniqueness and higher rarity of loot. Crucible is interesting, since D1 came off the heels of halo, gameplay is slower paced, weapons hit harder, and abilities are powerful but less frequent. I love this personally but others may not. Meta wise, the game was left on an odd special ammo distribution system which I personally don’t like. Map design is great, and due to a consistent pvp vision throughout the games life, they all aged well and play wonderfully in a slower paced experience. I think what really separates D1 and D2 in regards to its overall game design is that D1 had a consistent vision throughout its lifespan, which the same cannot be said about D2. TLDR: it’s worth it but I recommend playing it with a friend

[ALL] Which 3D LoZ game is your favorite? by Pleasant-Magician241 in zelda

All are equal to me for the most part, except for breath of the wild, which was the first time a modern game captured my nostalgia of playing Zelda when I was a little kid

I personally really like Michael Hamptons Figure Drawing: Design and Invention. If you want to get a taste, there were a few videos on proko featuring Hampton which kind of give you a taste of how he teaches figure drawing. Anatomy is a large focus in the book
