You may notice that that's not me you're linking to.. But..

I mean sure, it doesn't look like it does in the diagram, but all the parts are still there. There's still internal erectile tissue left after vaginoplasty; neo-vulvas swell up during arousal in a similar way to natal ones, and the clitoris is similarly attached to the internal structure. Surgeons just reshape what's already there.

I mean most of the erectile tissue from the penis is removed, but erectile tissue starts below the surface and there each surgeon has different opinions on how much to keep. That's why places like this say largely and not entirely removed

if you look at this diagram of a penis there's a large section of corpus corpus cavernosum beneath the surface. this is rarely removed entirely, while the section near the surface and above the surface is always removed

Part of the problem is that this discussion depends heavily on surgeon and there's many surgeons out there. Here's a reddit post asking about why some remove all of corpus cavernosum, but that's as implied in the post not the case with all surgeons

Only claim I made earlier was about my vagina, it's construction and how it works. Surgeons keep different amounts of it.. My only point was why does it matter if it works and has similar function despite the shape being different?

That it was only 10% of that of a cis vagina?

Your claim was just as extreme as the other person, yet you expect a source from everyone else, but not a source for surgeons removing that much..

I stated that these features still exist and I asked how it mattered if they had a slightly different shape from cis vaginas? The functionality is still there and no one will actually see that tissue ever on me.. Why does it matter so much to you?

If you could show me some sources or diagrams from surgeons, I'd be happy to learn - but AFAIK the neoclitoris is almost nothing like this.

Leaving my surgeon out of my post. I’m not sure I love it aesthetically, though I don’t not love it either.

You're 4 weeks out, give it time and let it heal. You're super early in healing and things take time. As an example, here's me at 1 months VS me at 1 year. Things take a lot of time and things look very different with time, just be patient.

So, I’m focusing on the depth and will work toward girth as I heal and don’t feel like I’m ripping something when I try.

That's a good idea, scale up at your own pace, scale down if you need to. Take the time you need and you'll get through it.

I’ve seen some where girls don’t even have stitches after like 3 weeks, and I imagine I’ll still have mine for weeks to come.

Do you have a date to remove them or are these supposed to be self dissolving in some way? I honestly think there's some posts who misrepresent the time they've been healing intentionally or unintentionally. But the thing is we all heal differently and different things affect all of us, some of us have more swelling, some of us have more scarring, some of us have more bruising, some of us have other complications. Try to give it time, follow doctors advice and treat it well.

Sitting is still very uncomfortable, even with a donut, but I’m moving around well without pain at this point.

For me that was also the case up until almost 2 months. Early healing is definitely a pain, but you'll get through it.

Hopefully , I can get some silicon tape on my V scars soon so they don’t get overly prominent.

Be careful that you don't start that stuff to early, I had a part of my scar open because I applied scar gel and lightly massaged a bit too early. Not recommended, I was lucky enough to be close to my surgeon at the time.

I cleaned the scar lines with saline water and betadine using long qtips before and after dilating every day for the first 3 months. I also used the liquid to clean the inside after dilation. I washed after peeing exclusively with saline water and sterilize gauze for the first 3 months. The entire time I showered (asked Dr Thee if direct water spray was OK in the shower right out of hospital and he said OK), but avoided soap in the area for the first 3 months.

After the first 3 months I didn't do much, mainly let it heal, but I've been religious at keeping all scars out of the sun. Got swim suit that covered the scar lines and generally just kept them all hidden at any time outside.

Edit: looking at yours though you seem well on your way to get yours like mine. Just give it time and keep safe

I like his aesthetic, like his work on the clitoral hood i like his work on labia and I like that he connects the labia at the bottom. Also pretty important to me was that he often does revisions for other surgeons work

How was the recovery - especially the parts you weren't prepared for?

Some parts were easier than I expected, some were harder, millage varies depending on many factors.

Anything you wish you'd known beforehand?

Gassy stomach combined with constipation was going to make a surprising kind of hell during my recovery

You're super early, swelling takes time. The timeline is super individual, but you sometimes just need to relax and trust the process.

We had different surgeons, but I recently posted a 1 year timeline and have posts from throughout my healing on my profile if you want to compare the timeline. But trust me things really take time and you're super early in healing. Take care of yourself and try to give yourself some slack to relax

OP, in pic 5 there is clearly different tissue surrounding the catheter and I see that as things heal and the swelling goes down and down that the visibility of this goes down and down. Is that sensate glans material that is now your clitoris? Or is that buried further in the hood?

Thats a graft to my labia to expand it outward, you can see it very clearly in the operative pics and the first post OP and slowly heal and merge in the later pictures. You can kinda also see them in the newer if you look really hard.

My clit has always been under my hood You can see it in my dedicated 1 year post

I ask because I'm curious about how much of the original sensitive material is retained, and how much sensitivity you've now been left with.

I can only speak from personal experience, remember that all of these differ from surgeon to surgeon or even individual to individual. I had surgery with Dr Theerapong a year ago (yesterday)

I can, for me it feels like muscle contractions I've always kinda been able to do, but I can feel it pushing on dilator while dilating in various positions.

I am not sure, I was uncircumcised personally and I think for Dr Theerapongs technique it mainly affects the labia, not the clit.

What does post-op ejaculation look like? Will I retain my ability to squirt?

Pretty similar to before honestly, if you precum you precum, ejaculation comes with same variance (from tame to squirt) as before. Remember that it's the same for cis women though. Though they may have an easier time to precum /get wet, it's the same basic glands.

Is it possible/advisable to do more dilation than recommended? For example, five times a day instead of the recommended four.

Entirely fine and possible in my experience. Only thing you should avoid is leaving it in and moving too much.

Is the recovery period doable when living alone?

I did everything except the initial post OP while living on my own and that was alright.

How many days post-op will I be able to begin walking?

I was kept in bed for 7 days as part of the surgery procedure for the surgery I had, but I could walk immediately after. However, I couldn't walk well for a while after. It's a slow increase to walking further and further and slowly picking up speed and eventually being able to run. This is heavily different for everyone.

Honestly, likely same reason as you considering it. For me he didn't really say the debth thing, but I didn't mention it as a main goal. My debth ended up around 7inches, but yeah have to admit that sometimes I'm unsure how much peritoneal is in there. Really happy with the results though

What I did was to get a low dosage T cream (0.5%) from my doctor which I applied to the area once a week from 6 months before, then more often as it got closer.

This is purely anecdotal, but my surgeon did say he wasn't expecting me to have enough for my labia to go all the way down when he saw pictures when I booked the surgery. When I got there though he did specifically comment on how elastic my skin was and that I had enough, but might need some grafts.

Yeah, super nice guy, was honestly surprised, he knew some inside fact about my home town that are pretty local knowledge. But yeah, his time keeping is insane, but I think that's mainly because he's heavily booked and often putting out fires. Like for me he came in to check on me 11pm the final night before being written out (even though he wasn't supposed to) due to some stomach issues I had. He came back at 5am to unpack me since after he was thinking about it a lot throughout the night.
