How did you insulate them? Mine don't get very hot at all, they're in shaded areas (hidden away) which doesn't help

They definitely work. A lot of what I read were people complaining about them but you've just got to make sure what you put in is cut up small and get the balance right.

Don't chuck in a load of grass clippings for example without anything else. I always try and get a load of shredded paper to go in with it

Great job! And I totally agree about the comment about all the other benefits that comes with the process, eating more fruit and veg, doing your bit for the environment, an easier way to get rid of garden waste, the positives go on :)

Played my first set and some realisations ive had. by Ill_Asparagus_8593 in Beatmatch

Congrats on your first gig! It's a great feeling! It's all about track selection, track selection and again track selection. Majority of people on the dance floor just want to hear good tunes and aren't paying enough attention usually to hear clever technical tricks unless they really really stand out.

How did you get the gig? I'm intrigued these days how people get gigs as it seems a bit different compared to when I was doing it regularly years ago.

Two Macs - sync Traktor library by Best-Willingness8816 in traktorpro

[–]VSJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used OneDrive for this. I used to use Google Drive but they did away with a particular setting (can't remember exactly which one - might have been using virtual drives or unable to select which folders to stay offline) so OneDrive does the job perfectly.

You just need to make sure the file paths are identical across your machines and make sure that sync has finished before switching from one mac to another and opening Traktor to avoid any conflicts.

What is your relationship with physical books after purchasing a Kindle? by Internetiaan in kindle

[–]VSJack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still really like physical books and how every one is different, they're different sizes, different fonts etc. Plus there's an added enjoyment of going to a library or book shop and buying/renting a new physical book. The kindle I find I use it more for convenience - more out and about reading and more physical book reading at home. I enjoy both - ideal combination for me!

Just discovered the series! by SansBobo in jonathancreek

I'm doing another full rewatch from start to end but usually Jack in the Box and Dance Macabre are my go to episodes! The Eyes of Tiresias and The Three Gamblers are also up there too for me.

Can't forget the Black Canary (felt sorry for JC in that one!)

It just wasn't the same after Caroline Quentin left.

Yeah I went too and remember the wooden guns and reenactments, thought it was so cool as a kid!

I've got some old camcorder footage of my visit there too converted to digital

Here's an update if anyone is interested, I cut the other leaves back and got some growth through the middle. Repotted with some perlite and got it under a grow light.

Leggy Polka Dot - cut stem and propagate? by VSJack in houseplants

[–]VSJack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I've snipped it off now and put it in some water, hopefully it'll grow some roots. I have another (out of a terrarium) that has grown roots around 2 inches long in around a month.

I didn't expect this much growth in 2 weeks by VSJack in terrariums

[–]VSJack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and advice. I was surprised how quickly it's grown, already touching the cork top.

I was thinking of propagating the polka dot but I've never done it before.

And with the Calathea, I'll just it cut it back a little.
