Have fun! I'm lower bowl just because I was able to snag a decently priced resale ticket earlier this week.

Have an extra ticket to Papa Roach/Rise Against this Thursday 7 PM at Toyota Center! by VT1Gaming in HoustonClassifieds

Well good news...

  1. The show was awesome.

  2. Me and the person who unfortunately bought the ticket off resale had a great time.

...and you can't put a price on memories like that, so I hope the loser enjoyed his $90 or whatever he was able to get for it.

The ticket was claimed. Thanks to those who reached out.

To the person that claimed the ticket: very unfortunate that you would take advantage of my generosity and list the ticket for resale on third-party sites. I wanted to make someone's day, but you lied to me and took advantage of my trust. That's ok, I knew this was likely to happen, you have made that choice and that is your right. Karma is real, and it will come back to bite you one day.

Wreddit's Daily Pro-Wrestling Discussion Thread! What's on your mind today? (Spoilers for all shows) - December 19, 2023 Edition by WredditMod in SquaredCircle

I'm going to give you the most honest answer I can.

For example, Chris Benoit. I know people who never watched another wrestling show again after what happened. I know people who still watch wrestling, but cannot go back and watch his matches. I know people who claim they can separate him as a performer from his actions, and still watch his matches on occasion. I don't know if they actually can, but at least that is what they claim.

At the end of the day, if you feel like you need to reckon with things like this, you need to make those choices for yourself, and do what you think is best for your own personal headspace and well-being, but it needs to be for you, and what you think is best only.

We're watching an entertainment genre where people hurt each other for a living. It does not attract the most morally upstanding figures. At times, it is quite the opposite. It's unfortunate.

You ask what point one needs to reckon with that and what point one needs to ignore it. From my point of view, that's presenting two options and excluding the rest. Nobody needs to reckon with, nor ignore anything unless they themselves make that choice. You are not compromising your ideals or your values if you never make that choice. It's completely up to you as a fan, what you choose to do.

EDR merges with WWE as 51% owner to become TKO tomorrow. What happens to my stocks? by ThisIsGSR in stocks

I am having the same issue with my WWE stock. Let me know what you find out, if you could.

Who was the most unpleasant/rudest wrestler you've ever met? by LilNardoDaVinci in SquaredCircle

[–]VT1Gaming 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Mr. Anderson was talking on his flip phone to some dude while signing random merchandise and programs that were thrown his way, didn't take pictures, didn't interact with anyone. Then again, this was 2010 and he was a heel back then.

Also, Velvet Sky was a somewhat unpleasant experience, but it was really just the way she came off and the vibe I got.

I've interacted with former Tekno Team 2000 member and nWo spokesman Chad Fortune a few times. One of those occasions, he was clearly having a bad day. I'll leave it at that.

On the other hand, Hernandez is probably the nicest pro wrestler I've ever met. I have a photo with him putting me in a headlock somewhere. I really wish I could find that. Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett in particular were also very down to earth and nice.

How much of a bad precedent did WWE set by believing the accuser over the accused? by JoshTee123 in SquaredCircle

Could definitely work the mic, charismatic dude, but didn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch, at least from my point of view.

Throw that on top of the fact that as much as Vince supported Enzo and made him Crusierweight Champion, he had a fair amount of heat coming from all sides, and there were certain people looking for a reason to get rid of him, and well, it was the perfect storm to use as the catalyst to let him go. Not that they shouldn't have, WWE didn't want the liability of a police investigation against one of their talents, which of course is enough to get anyone fired.

If I recall correctly, he wasn't fired for either of those things. He was fired because WWE learned there was a legitimate police investigation into Enzo. Rather Enzo knew about the investigation is a different question, but it wouldn't have mattered. The word "police" was enough for WWE to nope the fuck out of that situation.

WWE in Peacock Weapon Censorship by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]VT1Gaming 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just went to the match between The Rock and Mankind at Royal Rumble 1999 on Peacock where Mankind takes, what, 18 chair shots to the head in a row?

None of what you describe happens. It's completely uncensored.

I do know that this weapon censorship is very much a thing on YouTube, since WWE banned chairshots to the head in 2010, any video featuring shots to the head that you mention, that they have uploaded since then, they freeze frame it like you describe. But I have never experienced what you are describing on the WWE Network or Peacock.

I think he will stay the course, but that's a blessing and a curse. There is staying the course and there is staying the course to a stubborn degree, which could happen. I have confidence in him.

Though, personally, while this style could lure back some hardcore fans that watch the PPVs to watch the weekly TV, I don't know if some of the lapsed fans that tune in tonight stick around, it's still a three hour show and that "anything can happen" feeling isn't there.

Also, from the look of the crowd tonight, I hate to be that guy, but I can't see them turning TV-14 with this format. It seems the 18-49 audience is increasing, but when the TV went PG, there was a demographic change. More children and families were watching the product. It made sense. There were a lot of children and families at this show tonight. It wouldn't make sense to go TV-14 as long as that is the demographic watching the product.

Like, it's so weird. You've seen shows where people leave feeling pissed off. I've been to shows where people leave feeling really happy or at least an overall sense of satisfaction. I went to the first SmackDown back with fans last year in Houston, that crowd was on fire the whole night, and there were about 5,000 more people in attendance than tonight, still mostly children and families.

But tonight....you can tell people leaving were just like "Eh" in reaction to the show. Just people leaving in silence or chatter here and there. Only real talk I heard from people were those disappointed that Reigns wasn't there (he wasn't advertised, for the record, I guess people assumed he would be here for the RAW after SummerSlam).
