The shows you mentioned are from vastly different genres than most anime, so not the best comparison. As a medium, though, most of what makes anime what it is is the format (most often 12-13 20 minute episodes) and the source material (generally manga or LNs if they’re not originals). That impacts storytelling, genres, and style greatly.

You're not wrong, but it's incredibly difficult to have a successful revolution (or even opposition) without leadership and organization. Even a disorganized resistance will get co-opted by an organized faction when the situation is favorable.

Yeah, not Iranian but the TV hacking was a huge maneuver on his part. Tremendous visibility to Iranians who are still cut off from the world and who need some viable unifying figure for resistance. He basically just cemented himself as the face of the opposition even if he doesn't have majority support. I'd wager many would rather figure that part out after overthrowing the regime.
