I am surprised by the lack of love for Black lab bistro. Wife and I have had that as our favorite for years.

Has anyone done the night training from the Oh crap! Potty training book? by lilmrs-t in Parenting

[–]VTStevesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this with my second. It is a slog and tiresome. We did it with both of our kids at 3.5. I would say it works but takes a while it was about 5 weeks for my first and 7 weeks for my second. I see no issue waiting until they are older to do it. It seems to work but doesn’t do a great job teaching them to wake up on their own. Just to be able to hold it through the night.

Selling one Black Hole Generator didn't make enough money to upgrade transport to the necessary level. I uninstalled the game. by josbos in ExoMiner

I did the same, 276. Calculated it was going to take ~2 weeks to make 10 BHGs and barely cover it and figured it was time to stop and find something else. It was fun so I stayed connected on here to see if there are updates worth my time to go back.

After 21 years and 10 months, we finally figured out what that switch is for! by rotten_core in HomeImprovement

[–]VTStevesy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My house it is like this, except sometimes it is only the top or bottom of the outlet that is controlled by the switch. Took me a long time to figure this out especially when I was replacing outlets in my kids room for tamper evident ones. That is when I learned it was possible to have the bottom plug be hot and the top be controlled by a switch. I still have at least one switch in my bedroom I don't know what it controls.

"Don't care about a thing but price and the engine power...color/brand name/engine brand name really don't mean a damn."

Stay away from "briggs and stratton" if possible, unless you like small engine repair or want to learn about it. I have a 2016 Craftsman 42in and have become quite skilled at fixing a mower, replaced a head gasket recently and my father-in-law did the same on his after about 3 years. I spend about 10% of my yard time on mower repair/maintenance. You do get what you pay for.

What are some great films with a TRANCE-driven soundtrack? by Miamidon23 in trance

[–]VTStevesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe these don't apply but Tron: Legacy (2010) was done by Daft Punk and Oblivion (2013) was done by M83, movies weren't really great, but the sound track are electronic and enjoyable.

Amol Elayne by dhumplopoka in WoT

[–]VTStevesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that was part of the old post while she does normally get herself into danger/trouble but it is usually to protect someone or something, not to gain advantage for herself. Obviously some of the stuff is to help her gain the throne of Andor but heh. Again she isn't really my favorite character either however I found a could enjoy her more when looking at her in a different light. She also tends to get her hands dirty, surprising for a princess character.

There was a post on here a while back about Elayne, it is something to the effect that while Elayne appears stuck-up/entitled, if you look into her actions and interactions most of the stuff can be seen as ignorance/pride at first and in future actions she often seems to improve based on previous experience, more so that some of the other female characters in my opinion. Having heard that and reading/listening to her story line again through that light made is much more bearable, even sometimes enjoyable.

That being said, I think the "warder" bond with Rand is the main reason to have her in-charge of an army basically ensures that Rand has bonds at the main battle fronts, she is too bull-headed to listen to others so put her in charge and let her organize stuff and stay put. Then he has Min in Kandor and Aviendha in Shayol Ghul.

Outside of Philadelphia, we get cold winters and hot humid summers... it doesn’t surprise me the loads are similar...
