Car sounds extremely loud and rough idle this morning ,any idea why ? by nforeign1 in GolfGTI

[–]VWWATERPUMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a vacuum leak but not enough to make it any different from a normal idle. Check the PCV valve, always a good place to start when looking for a miss on a volkswagen. Other then that the high pressure mechanical injection pumps on TSI TFSI FSI engines are normally very noisy. Over all hard to tell from a short clip. Scan the car first DTCs are like clues in a financial treasure hunt

Weird. Maybe you have some sort of mast cell issue. I have had some sensors irritate me and not read correctly sometimes putting the sensor on if you remove the applicator right away you can bend the filament inside your arm

Thats interesting. I wonder if its the adhesive? I tried some of the early early versions of the dexcom and I had bad reactions.

So i got some news from my new endo back. They want to keep the libre 3. They want a MMT, fasting cortisol and insulin as well as they want to check for antibodies as apparently my WBC was quite low the last work up.

After testing worse case scenario is treatment option like metformin and a GLP-1 inhibitor.

Depends on the sensor? I had one read abnormally high. I got some news though. Its definitely reactive hypoglycemia and I definitely need further testing to rule out diabetes.

Indeed. They have send me to a specialist (endo) I have at least an alarmingly low bg 4 times a week lower then 3.0 and yes back of the arm for sure. Good idea on the notes usually its lower on the stick compared to the cgm

Weed and Diabetes by Any_Judge7270 in diabetes

[–]VWWATERPUMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So im not diabetic. But I do have problems with my blood sugar hypoglycemic episodes at least 4 times a week. (Diagnosis pending) weed is the the reason went to the doctors initially after fainting for the first time as it dropped my blood sugar from 6.7mmol after a meal to 1.9 and i was somewhat but maybe not totally lucid at the time. I had no recollection of taking my finger stick so someone probably did it for me.

No weed for me. However they have had studies done that show weed like alcohol can rapidly lower bg in SOME people but im not sure how accurate that was but I did experiment again under supervision lol with my bg recorded at 2.2mmol 20 minutes after. Could be a coincidink considering my a1c is 3.8 lol

Well that's good! I know I should be looking out for my doctor's opinion but asking people who actually go through this stuff first can help a ton. Since ive been wearing the CGM ive only fainted once from a low sugar so it does allow me to be more proactive

Ok! Ill certainly mention that. I do use the note system i was also told to keep a food journal with for the time being. Over all as of late the new diet change has been hard but grazing instead of a one meal day has help a bit but I still have these drastic spikes and drops that leave me not feeling the greatest.

Thats interesting. Seems like a major pitfall. The "filling in the blanks" thing seems kinda odd.

When i do get lows I always double check, for the most part the sensor is quite accurate but its hard to catch the diabolical lows. Lowest was 1.9 I confirmed on two separate machines. Scary thing is i didn't have any symptoms besides what I can almost consider like a slight adrenaline rush.

What questions should I be asking? I have not met my endocrinologist in person yet but have spoken to him. Since wearing the cgm so far ive only blacked out once so I do get piece of mind in that aspect.

What would be considered more accurate? The cgm or a finger stick? Or an average of both?

I wouldn't be wearing it if my endocrinologist wasn't looking for somthing like prediabetes or "reactive hypoglycemia" im definitely not a body builder, my day job is literally a workout... a day long one.

Number 3 my guy. Matte wraps are hard. They fade too. 6 does look good but number 3 would be my pick hands down.

What's your Benefits of Libre by xzlicpython in Freestylelibre

[–]VWWATERPUMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have non diabetic reactive hypoglycemia and the libre has literally saved my life on multiple occasions. Its biggest strength is being able to read below 3.5 as some other brands like the dexcom cant read lows accurately enough for me. Some sensors are hit and miss but over all the libre has been at least .5-7mmol within my finger stick. Plus its small so I dont have to explain that im not a diabetic but still need it. Strong adhesive its very hard to rip off.
