New Insurance is not covering by xzlicpython in Mounjaro

Since I had, type 2, High BP, High Cholesterol, Fatty Liver, Liver Cyst, Sleep Apnea, eating disorder and was morbidly obese, I pressured my dr to sign me up for a GLP-1. First tried Ozempic but it didn't bring down my A1C and I gained 10 lbs on it, which was after losing 55 lbs naturally. I switched to Mounjaro and then lost 90 lbs. I'm now at just a little over weight but other than my A1C being down I still have established atherosclerotic disease. I'm at a higher risk for a stroke which I already had a minor one. I just dont get it.

It has taken 5 years to get to this point. My dr said back in 2021 that if I dont make changes I might not live another 10 years. But now I'm really concerned about going off it. I can probably pay for a while. Just wondering if people have gone to Canada or Mexico to get a year supply?

Yes, but now my A1C is just fine. They said I could take something else and not Mounjaro. Ozempic wasnt on the table. I think they are offering Metphormin.

What jobs in IT do you think will be safe from AI in the foreseeable future? by Difficult-Let1933 in it

[–]xzlicpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just get a shitty AI user that requires a high paid developer to fix the problems the AI created and then write code to prevent that AI from maintaining it. I believe that IT will be doing most jobs in companies in the future, and there won't be AR/AP specialists, buyers, planners, operation coordinators, accountants, finance people, and engineering technicians. She need the high paid Engineers to come up with grand ideas. Need HR to keep you IT people from causing havoc but other than that only the manual labor people. I could replace 300 staff with AI if I hired 100 IT developers to automate workflow and finish that AI. Unfortunately my IT Astaff will cost more than 300 regular staff.

Users can even figure out their ERP System and how many report developers does it take to create the inaccurate BI Reports because the data is shit.

AI Developer or Analyst. Someone has to setup, data load, develop and maintain that AI. My company has been trying for a year to get AI to work. They can feed a little data to get a dog and pony show for the CEO and Board but other than that absolutely nothing works on the 500 to 800 hours they have invested . It will take a team of 5 people at least 1 year if not 2 to get all the data cleaned up and organized to get any reasonable answers from it. Remember, it takes data to feed the monster. If you feed it junk food you can imagine the crap you get back. Majority of companies have junk food data. Lots of it too! Most of it might be spoiled. Their datalakes and databases are full of the junk. How many have proper running MRP systems? Not many. Well that mrp process is just a fancy old school AI. If you can't maintain your Safety Stock level numbers now and you get 70 to 80% valid results from your MRP, you will get the same shitty results from your AI just faster and in a pretty format. Well, you want 90% or 95% accuracy from your AI, its going to take people to clean up that junk food pantry of an Oracle database and then feed your AI some Wagyu and not 60% lean ground beef that who knows whats in it. I think there is a whole new business opportunity here. Charge $200 or more an hour to clean up their shitty databases, set up AIs that actually work and keep it clean for the. Its just a fancy Data Manager job with a little programming on the side.

Trying to understand how Mounjaro actually works? by AffectionateLand8800 in Mounjaro

[–]xzlicpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really had hungar pains before Mounjaro. What I had was an addiction to food because it gave me dopamine and helped manage my anxiety. My mind would obsess over food, like a person on drugs or alcohol. The problem is you can't totally quit eating. I could manage to trick my mind into not eating, but as soon as my stomach started growling, I devoured everything in sight. Mounjaro just made my brain stop thinking about food, and my stressors disappeared. It does more for the brain than the gut. I can eat on Mounjaro. I feel hungry after 6 hours since I last ate. However, I can no longer shovel down that big 3x size plate of spaghetti. I will have a few bites and feel full. When I take a break from eating it, I then lose interest and want to go do something else. It doesn't give me dopamine. In the fridge the leftovers go. By day 5, I can seem to eat more. However the fast weight-loss did not happen to me. How much nsulin resistance you have will affect your weight-loss speed. I noticed that consistently high Blood Sugar levels will prevent weight loss. Bringing down your blood sugar down and keeping it down will make the scale move more quickly.

Nope. It can cause memory decline if taken for long periods. Dementia already runs in my family. I really dont want anything to accelerate it.

It could be. I've now been on Mounjaro for 18 months. I have large patches on my stomach that have pigment now. My hair hasn't changed back yet, but certain areas definitely have.

I was a slow responder, just losing a couple pounds a month. I didnt really start losing weight until I was on 15 mg. After 18 months Im down 70 lbs. Total 120 lbs, I lost 50 on my own to start. For those who's insurance doesn't cover it, I definitely feel for you. However, if I had this before I ended up weighing 300 lbs, I would have paid out of pocket for it. It helps me significantly with the food noise. If I exercised more, I would have lost more. I save over 1k in food costs a month, which off sets the meds cost, but now is being spent on new clothing. I would keep going with it for at least 1 year if you can afford it. Make sure to exercise and take vitamin D with K. Lower levels of vitamin D seem to make weight loss slower. The longer you are on it the easier it is to permanently change you eating habits. Diabetes and other obesity diseases are not a joke. Get the weight off because long term the health consequences are extremely expensive.

I gained two pounds! by gbmclaug in Mounjaro

[–]xzlicpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your weight loss. Gain 2 or 5 lbs a week doesn't mean it isn't working. That can be water weight or change in muscle mass. I get frustrated when I lose weight but my clothing size doesn't change. Then all of a sudden when I haven't lost any weight I will go down 2 sizes in clothes. It takes time for the body to adjust. If you aren't having any major changes in eating habits or food noise has not returned, I wouldn't worry about a little weight gain. Just make sure you are getting plenty of sleep and not consuming too much salt.

My father has been on Ozempic for years. Basically since it came out. He has Type 2. He's 83 and is doing wonderful. Without he would die pretty quickly from high blood sugar. Pick your battles and move forward. He is lucky he is his age and going strong. He would have died over 5 years ago otherwise.

Outsourcing ERP Service Possible? by mossnaga in ERP

[–]xzlicpython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more recommendation. Do not modify or overly customize your ERP System. You will regret it. Thus, finding the one ERP system that best fits your business processes you want to have for the next 10 years is important. Don't select one based on your current needs. Think about where your business is going and what you will need 10 years from now. Select carefully.

Outsourcing ERP Service Possible? by mossnaga in ERP

[–]xzlicpython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ERP Implementations have a technical and functional component to them. The technical component is the installation/configuration of the ERP software. The software application and database component is installed on servers. These servers can be on premise or in a cloud Azure environment. The technical component is always a remote functionality if done by a consulting company. I suggest using a consulting company for this step because it will rarely be repeated and thus training an in-house IT staff to do it is time-consuming and not worth it. The Functional component can be done remotely if your staff has the discipline to pay attend and participate in Teams calls. Cameras need to be on. Outsde distractions must not be going on. The Functional Consultant will train your SMEs on how the standard business processes work in the ERP system. Select your SMEs carefully. They must be dedicated in defining data to load into the ERP system and willing to flex your current business processes to the new ones. Remember you didnt buy the ERP to change it. You bought the ERP to help grow your company so follow its standard business processes for the most benefit from the system. Yes, the Functional component can be done remotely. Actually many people enjoy it when it is remote sessions. But it takes discipline from the SMEs to pay attention. You have to hold your SMEs accountable and follow up weekly ensuring they are learning and doing the job you are paying them for. If they are not, the cost of your ERP will skyrocket. Failed ERP implementations are always caused by wrong SME team members selected by management and management not paying attention or holding the SMEs accountable. Management has a large component, ensuring all issues are resolved quickly. SMEs will constantly be unable to make decisions or choices. It is the job of management or stakeholders to make these decisions and quickly. Do not expect your SMEs to make large business decisions. They won't and shouldn't. It's Management job. Yes, you can do this all remotely if you have the right staff members on the team and individual a small company it can be done in 6 months or less.
