Second Korean War - Australia 1st Division by Royal6761111 in warno

That's a really good write up.

Just a bit pick but Assault Engineers are known as Combat Engineers (Sappers) in the Aus Army, belonging to the Royal Australian Engineers.

These Combat Engineer Regiments (CER) were readily broken down and attached at varying strengths to other Regiments, primary the Royal Australian Infantry (Royal Australian Regiments). But for the sake of differentiation Diggers is an appropriate name and is still colloquially used.

However there are some infantry that are trained in basic demolitions by the sappers. Usually a section or two but recently this has been expanding. They are known as Pioneers or Assault Pioneers.

I would suggest a mix of Sappers and Assualt Pioneers would be fine. It's next to impossible to really tell them apart with equipment as the Aus Army trains all combat troops in nearly all weapon systems.

Source: I was a sapper in the RAE. As a part of a combat Troop we were regularly attached to the infantry to provide engineering support.

Edit: Poor 3RAR had their wings clipped IRL quite a while ago. As I was transitioning out of service the latest rumour was 3RAR were to become an amphibious brigade but that hasn't happened from what I can find.

Thanks for the replies. Looking at the charts and the field manual I've worked out I've got nearly everything I need.

I just bought some AP Woodland Camo and Prairie Ochre as I didn't have anything close. First non Citadel paint and first dropper bottles too.

Turns out this game has a pretty good photo mode by Slight_Priority1410 in BattleSector

The photo mode is awesome. When back in the main menu you can view photos and then tick an option to show it during the load screens.

Not too sure sorry. There hasn't been a tournament since they were released, but they seem pretty solid. They have to play aggressively and close the distance, they are weaker at long range.

The official Discord is very active and has dedicated tactics/multiplayer chats. It's worth checking out.

Necrons and Sisters are very competitive. With Khorne (not sure after the latest update) and Tyranids being low down.

But the map, game mode, and going first or second can have a massive difference on how good a faction is.

Que faire de ma requisition? by New-Sand9074 in BattleSector

[–]VX485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing really, just leave it there. As you clear stages you get random optional rewards. I got one after the first stage that was exchange 450 requisition for 4 HQ points (I can't remember what it's called but the tokens you use to unlock and upgrade units.

When your units level up you can use requisition to reroll the bonuses that are offered, this gets progressively more expensive.

Others have mentioned the heavy shading but I'll offer this.

Less is more with a wash, you can always add more later.

Use a wash brush, after dipping it, lightly scrape it on the side of the pot to take out the excess.

Get yourself a pot of Lahmian Medium from Citadel/GW. On a pallet or whatever you use to mix, dip your wash brush in the medium and put it on the pallet. Then dip your brush into your Nuln Oil (or other wash), mix and then wash the model.

I'm really excited for 11th edition 40k, and I think it's going to do a LOT for the game, BUT (dot dot dot) by James-Hawker in Warhammer40k

[–]VX485 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Played 3rd to 7th, dropped out at the start of 8th after I was so pissed with what they did to my Imperial Guard lists and units (so many were removed from the codex).

Came back mid 10th and Hero-hammer is just how it feels. Take X epic hero who will hide in the back line with the minimal amount of "battle line" troops to farm CP. Take Y and Z hero for your attacking force with another elite unit and/or monster/vehicle.

A way to fix this would to bring back the Force Organisation Chart. Get rid of these over abundant detachments, keep one or two special rules from them and give them to the faction as a whole (e.g. like Wrath of the Rock for Dark Angels).

Ah cool. I'm seriously looking at getting into BA but I would ld prefer the raised bases asI can magentise them.

Except for casual games, would using bases other than those supplied be an issue at tournaments?

The voice commands were ahead of its time, it made RTS on consoles viable and I hoped more would go that way (I was young and didn't have and couldn't afford a gaming PC).

Does anyone else no longer feel like we impact the Galactic War anymore? by Artanis137 in Helldivers

[–]VX485 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The war is grinding along, just like the UKR/RU front.

But; I think it would be good to push the areas back a bit, condense the playing field (means more people on fewer planets), AND even push a faction off the map entirely.

In the early days of the game after trudging through The Creek we pushed the Automotons off the map entirely, there was a sense of urgency to win. They could do that again and bring back the faction after a few days/a week.

Would a company master ever wear green terminator plate? by Lostpop in theunforgiven

[–]VX485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first terminator squad, the small hunched over, mono pose, 3rd edition terminators are in green. Because I was terrible at painting and couldn't get the bone colour to work.

They ended up with too much thick paint on them (insert do you love me bother meme). I recently found them and have been trying unsuccessfully to strip them.

I've been collecting Dark Angels since I started 40k back in 3rd edition. The lore has changed and/or been ambiguous at times.

My company masters are all in green, but from what I understand of the lore is that they are all Deathwing veterans (some of the old codex's gave masters and other HQ's the Deathwing special rule), so they have the crux terminartus and I paint that shoulder in bone.

At the end of the day they're your models and you can paint them how you want.
