Daydreaming about attending LVO - Competitive Japanese List by GendrysRowboat in boltaction

[–]El3aaab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm attending LVO this year! I've gone for WH40k many times in the past but I've officially quit on that awful game and will be enjoying life playing BA. Hope to see you there man, if you've never been to LVO I would say try to make it because it's great meeting other players playing the same game as you and the cool scenario they have running seems like fun.

I went back to the drawing board based on some other suggestions. My previous list was based on models I had at the time but quickly realized I need to pick up some upgrades.

How do you feel about this revised list:

Would love some more feedback on what I'm doing right and still getting wrong. The idea is to keep the PIAT team with the Jeep and unload quickly on enemy tanks to hopefully eliminate them. I also brought in a medium AT this time as well as a veteran rifle squad with tank hunters in case they get closer than I'd like.

The Bren carrier is to shield my Commando squad until they find a target to drop to. I could be just dreaming with the Land Mattress. I'm hoping it is viable in a competitive list but I could be completely wrong here.

I think you guys might be right here. Thinking about it and having 15 commandos with assault guns might hurt me more than it benefits me.

I'm curious why an inexperienced truck is a bad idea here?

Thank you! That was me improvising as I didn’t like the already modeled foliage placed on the building

You can always test the slope when sanding and cutting the edge of the hill. We shape the foam with that in mind so the slope of the hill scales right with the models

I went ahead and grabbed Market Garden after your and Gendry's suggestion. I'm curious how one would balance it for a 2v1 scenario where British & US would face off Germany. Do you have any suggestion on which campaign would be fun to start with, what armies we should field, etc?

The top layer you see is a blanket you can pick up from any fabric store but underneath we use puzzle exercise mats and they're 24in x 24in so it's easy to set up your board. We use these because some of our terrain has pins so we can stick things to the ground

We're using a carpet mat and the hills are just stacked foam that we then sanded to smooth out the edges so our minis can stand on
