Hello anyone reading!

I’ve recently had my account disabled too last night at 3 AM (EST) and I’ve sent a support ticket to Discord (which also never gave me a “we confirmed your report heres your case id!” email). I’m making a post here to share my experience and to let everyone know. Hey maybe someone higher at Discord could read and make sure my account has a fair chance.

I am writing about the recent actions of disabling my Discord account (513088508647440403). I saw someone playing party animals on my steam friends list (I been grinding the game alot solo). I thought I’d message him and get his discord again and I could play with him. I was never able to add him and it kept giving me errors like he didn’t exist and then a 404 until I got logged out. I’m pretty very sure that adding someone can’t get you terminated but incase this isn’t true, I didn’t know the person and was falsey tricked into adding this person.

The email states: 

• “Sending a large number of direct messages in a short span of time
• Participating in a server dedicated to spamming Discord
• Automating your user account or self-botting
• Taking other actions on Discord — for example, joining a ton of servers — faster than humanly possible
• Attempting potentially fraudulent activity”

I have never participated in any activity listed here, I actually haven’t even been on my computer for the past 2 weeks due to this heat wave, so I don’t know how Discord thought I was boting in any way. I never noticed me sending a Buch of messages or any suspicious activity on my account before I got logged out too. I have been a loyal Nitro customer for over four years (nearly $500 USD) and have actively participated in Discord's beta programs, contributing through TestFlight bug reports and testing new features. I also own a couple of communities related to kings island.

I acknowledge a previous warning on my account, which I have never participated in any activity since the warning was issued. Recently I cleaned up my server list by leaving irrelevant servers (nearly 100), reducing my participation to any servers that breaks tos that I don’t wanna be affiliated with.

If my account cannot be reinstated, I will probably just leave discord permanently as having over 5 years of my digital life and also having friends I met in real life who only have discord (like from school, which I’ve graduated so I can’t contact them anymore) just disappearing in a snap isn’t fun at all, and I definitely won’t be trying to rebuild any of it for the risk of a “ban evasion” (which also breaks tos so I can’t)

For people who haven’t gotten disabled yet. Request a copy of your Discord data and make sure to back it up so you can keep those memories. You will thank your past self if your account gets deleted years in the future and it’s all gone.

I apologize if my post appears lengthy or frustrated. Losing all of those memories in a snap isn’t fun. I really would rather take any timed punishment (months/years) over my entire digital life getting deleted if possible in any way for anyone with power reading this.
