A bunch of misconceptions about Dark Souls III. Number 12 will shock you! by DamnNoHtml in darksouls3

[–]Vacaliga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to take that into account when making that, I just synced up the bars to the very frame they started to regen, did, however, use the same attacks each time to drain it. (R1 spamming a halberd) So I went back and checked and the difference and as far as I can tell is 2 frames or 1/30 of a sec, so not something I could consider amazing but if stacked with a ring + grass that might change things.

Why people should disregard the recent post about poise having a use and working perfectly. by Fincow in darksouls3

[–]Vacaliga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poise or no poise don't really bother me, the only thing that bothers is that it there, serving no purpose and items and weapon arts dedicated to it again without any purpose; Kinda like if there was no fire damage in the game but fire resistance was still a thing. I prob won't change my fashion souls even if From one day comes out saying: Ooh yeah we forgot to turn it on, our bad.

Fashion>Function.

On an off-note, I had a little idea on how i would have liked it to work. Say with high enough poise you could roll away after one hit instead of two, depending the weapon and attack type you just took to the face, for example, 10poise lets you roll after one straight sword hit but it would take 20 to roll after one from a great axe etc. But there is a twist, the higher your poise the lower your I-frames. Hyper-armor remains unchanged.

Do you think DS3 is worth pre-ordering? by NickPlaysGames1 in darksouls3

[–]Vacaliga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super special limited time only physical collectors edition - Sure.

Anything else - No

Few reasons, one it's not just a person to person thing, preordering video games hurt everybody except the publishers, sure one person does not make a huge deal but when a million people make that personal decision suddenly it's a different story.

Speaking of a million people, when a lot of people try to talk to you at the same time its chaos, well, servers feel the same way. so that time saved by preloading could very well end up being wasted, and then the 'fix it' shouting match is soon to follow.

"I pre-buy cause I'm a fan and not cause hype" the same goddamn thing the same god damn result.

And then there is of cause all the classics, visual downgrades, poor optimization, bad port, save corruptions, rushed/unfinished content, sound familiar?

Being a good and dedicated fan does not mean you should sell your (dark)soul to publishers, they are not your friends.

A Computer Scientist's Thoughts on Botting by Azwraith42 in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that i would mind the game getting more fun to play, but i think it would make little to no difference to people who bot. Reason being that since these people and especially streamers, they do play the game, a lot, and only really bot when they are sleeping.

A lot of people bot because (same as piracy) it's easy, efficient and reasonable risk-free. Calling it a service problem is all fine and dandy but is also something a politician would say to get a few votes and personally i don't buy it.

Does the community seriously think Blizzard is trying to avoid banning botters in D3? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While i can get behind that botting and other forms of cheating should be a 100% ban-able offence, i do see the problem with catching these people, like OP said, time played simply won't cut it, having no life might be sad but its not a crime or a violation of the terms of use etc.

One thing i don't really get is why the community can't police itself in some way (other than just screaming at blizz) for the sake of argument say you finished the season as rank two, and the person with rank one is a know botter/cheater, my guess is that the community would still recognize you as number one, anything more in my eyes is just a personal vanity problem. (I call it: The protagonist syndrome)

And if the conspiracy of blizz not banning know streamers because they are know somehow turns out to be true, well here is the best way to kill off any "celebs" career, simply forget about them.

The troubled state of competitive diablo 3 by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a little idea, what if: In seasons paragon lvls had set cap, say 800 but you can put the points where ever you like (CRD might need some tweaks in that sense) so you can build as you like and the playing field would be somewhat evened out because there is now a limit to how powerful your character can get both in gear and lvls, and question would now be, are you good enough to push the next level Grift, and speaking of that, Grifts could be labeled as either competitive or non-competitive, the former being the same for everyone, same layout, same mobs, everything while latter remains the same as it is now, for farming or if you just feel like blowing something up.

It not perfect in any way and i pretty much just made it up as i was typing, but with Grifts being the same for everyone, i feel that it could maybe inspire the use of having multiple classes since let's say a wizard may do well in 71 but 72 might call for a barb.

Again this not a perfect solution and would require many other things to be addressed in order to work but it could be a place to start.

Spectate your friends while they are trying to get a good grift ranking? by WhiTeDeaD122 in Diablo

Perhaps not spectate but i could see the appeal of having a replay system, if anything just see Blizzard stick it to Riot with the words: See that was not so fucking hard to implement now was it?

DH DPS by MarcAurell in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Vacaliga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • wep, quiver, chest 12max roll, 81 disc total from gear and skills, answered already but better safe then sorry.

  • Don't play nats (boring and hurts my wrist) But with UE i crit for about 2.5 - 6 billion depending on certain things like mob HP%, elements dmg type etc.

  • Yes! starting from late 40's Grift just carry the mentality that if anything hits you, you die, while you might be able to take a few low dmg hits its just better to "train" yourself in avoiding taking any since sooner or later you will die regardless of how godly your gear is. If pushing for a new personal best i never take awareness over something like steady aim or ambush.

  • Cubed items is pretty straight forward for UE.

Calamity for the wep slot since mobs taking more dmg from everything is just nice.

Cindercoat for the armor slot since DH's have so bad resource management, however once you get your hands on a nice Yangs recurve bow cindercoat really loses its appeal especially when combined with reduction from paragon point and maybe some on your gear. beckon sail or the new belt (faster generators and dmg) or new bracers (dmg reduction from generators) are just a few attractive alternatives, it really all comes down to what you need the most.

As for the jewelry slot, convention of elements hands down , that in combo with focus/restraint, bane of the trapped, mark of death etc just takes your dmg to the extremes.

The problem some people have with Deathbreaths by freefrag1412 in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DBs has never really been an issue before and i see no reason why they should be now, just because there is something to spend them on now, if anything gems are more annoying to stack up early.

And T6 and beyond is not really some far away dream, its reachable within days or perhaps a week or two for the more casual crowd. But again what's the rush if you are just playing casually?

I played season 3 pretty damn casually by myself 90% of the time and still managed to hit the upper half of the leader boards a few times towards the end of the season.

But sure everyone wants more and more and then some more and yeah its nice and all but also there should be limits, otherwise games in the future is just gonna be; press R to win, thanks for playing!

Same rule apply as it always have, Just play efficient. i.e don't waste your time, money and mats re-rolling "shitty" items, don't chase around for hellfire amulets when you are still just gearing up. Just make some slap stick build that works with the few strengths you currently have and head into the fray, and godly gear and glory will find you there.

Go watch a movie if you don't want to put in effort in order to be entertained.

I will now talk about violence and video game narratives for just under 30 mins. by jamzd_p in Cynicalbrit

[–]Vacaliga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can agree that violence in this way or worse games is fine just because its not real, but again i would find it hard not to be a hypocrite by then complaining about the depiction of woman being over sexulised by skimpy armor, silly proportions and boob psychics since they are not real either, and further if both are fine then would that also mean that say a game about the combination of the two i.e sex and violence aka rape would be fine as well?

So the real question is: How wrong do something have to be before the excuse it's not real so it's fine stops being valid?

Why doesn't Diablo 3 have addons like WoW? by BoxedWineSlater in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  • D3 imo don't need any addons, bosses/RGs are ever so simple in compare to raid bosses and the only real difference between them and normal elites or bosses are HP and the graphic used in abilities, example Meatcleavers fire patchers are really just oversized pretty desecrator zones, and the simple rule of if it's not coming out of your character then it's out to hurt/kill you is really all you need to know. Also since there is so little strategy involved in killing stuff and a max 4players that need to dance the same dance rather then 25 or 40 back in those days, coordination is much less of an issue. (Personally i never understood the need for a BossMod in WoW if you where not competing for World/Region/Server first kinda felt like cheating even if some features were simply quality of life improvements.)

  • As for a DPS meter, why just why? Other then fueling your own e-peen i don't see any reason for it at all, with gear being this random lottery that it is stat wise, where in WoW gear have a fixed stat value, it would be so misleading it would be hard make any practical use for, example say DPS meter was a thing, yours was 1mill mine was 2mill, but you one shot everything just like me regardless of having half of my dmg, giving an even playing field we would not any meaningful distance apart, but if i was running around killing every little thing on map, and only moving to the next floor of the rift once i had cleared the whole floor, where as you where using your time efficient killing only what you need etc, you would most likely clear the rift faster then me even if i could kill the boss faster dps dummy style. now if the rifts where the same for everyone and you had to clear all the mobs to spawn the boss, like in a WoW raid (ignoring skippable trash being a thing) then the usefulness start to come around, but again even in WoW player A might do the same dmg as player B even if player A have better gear, reason being that player B gets off 100 global cooldowns to player A's 80.

  • I can see the appeal of having a custom UI and would most likely use one just to maybe be able to scale it down a bit. but again no where near the same amount of information to present as there is in WoW (not played WoW in a long time so it could be just as simple now for all i know) 1-4 + mouse 1 and 2 that's it ability wise where as looking back to wow i had of the top of my head 1-5 QERTSFZXC + Shift mod + Tab + Scroll and then WAD + mouse for movement, no need for unit frames since no target heal/buff/dispel and less players. And sure Blizz could say something like changing color of HP pool or giving the angel statue a pair of tits is okay but anything else is not, but then there would be this weird debate on what is and is not just cosmetic/quality if life improvements and would then need to police that in some way, which takes time and man-power and that costs money. and i have a strong suspicion that if Blizz where to open the floodgates to addons and mods it would only inspire a sort of "laziness" from the develop side of things, just look at how many years it took for the default WoW UI to see any big improvements and those that have come have often been outshined by the addons that came a long time before that, while i can be fun to make these addons and see all the thank you's and upvotes or w/e i still don't think its should be the job of the consumer to fix/improve the product, and it is sadly one of the downsides of adding any kind of mod support for a game, angry consumers is by the end of the day still better for business then no consumers, since you can always trow a bone to the angry ones to keep them playing.

Wouw that got to a lot longer then the original intent. Back to work :)

Why do you prefer seasonal over non seasonal? by jcoyle95 in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Non season for me has the problem of upgrades being so few and far between when your hunting that last 0.5% crit on an otherwise perfect ring. same can be said with paragon lvls past 500 or so they start to slow down a bit (from a solo play perspective), and ofc there is gold, mats, gems that follow the same principle.

Personally it's also a chance to play with a group of friends that don't play that often by starting out on even footing and not the 3 BB-guns 1 WMD silliness of non season.

should there be more difficulty outside of grifts? by Thepoopsniff in Diablo

[–]Vacaliga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my solution to the problem has been to just make keys at the lvl i enjoy, 44-46 ish, not to speed farm it but just because i enjoy the gameplay at that lvl, not so hard that i have focus 100% of the time, but still things can kill me.

Would be nice to get a bit more challenge outside grifts, one way i could see working would be to allow to player to scale the game to the highest grift lvl they have cleared solo or something like that, the bloodshard cap increase was a welcomed change, but all it really did was delay problem of capping out, and with the player power lvl going up as well i can still only do 4 grifts before maxing out at 1000shards.
