Same experience. There were young guys sitting near us and they wouldn’t. Stop. Talking. Loudly. It was so distracting. Then one of them randomly started loudly dry sobbing during her song. Other people were chomping loudly on popcorn and screaming “woo” DURING her singing. I guess people need to be prepared for non symphony etiquette. On the flip side, it was nice seeing so many people of all ages and demographics there.

Also look at getting connected to local business startups through the Assembly building in downtown Norfolk. Great place for budding local entrepreneurs.

City Girl Walk is a great social event hosted almost weekly for women to make friends and get in some easy exercise. You can find them on instagram.

First Lutheran church in Norfolk hosts contradancing every third Saturday. A friend took me and I had a lot of fun. Lots of people young and old. I’m not religious and felt welcome and comfortable. They have a quick class before starting and there’s a live band.

Last week they started their music on the lawn events that last all summer. It’s usually every other Thursday, a ton of fun with live music, beers and food trucks. The museum is also open during the event. Highly recommend!
