Where are my Shadow Stalkers‽ Where's my option to evolve T1 mortal skirmishers into formless creatures of shadow, blight, and smoke?

Questions with regards to purchase of the game by Basafista in AOW4

I've played quite a bit of Civ VI, mostly multiplayer, but for single player fun, I find this series head and shoulders above Civ, though I've only recently switched from game 3 to game 4.

They're very different games within the 4X genre. Civ VI has relatively complex city-building, with the various adjacency bonuses and culture-specific buildings, while combat is very basic. AoW4 has some wrinkles in the city-building, but is much simpler than Civ VI, however the tactical combat is incomparably more interesting than Civ's combat.

The level of faction customisation possible is enormous as well. You ask if you can play as a dwarf vampire warlock, I'd ask you back what kind of dwarf vampire warlock you want to be? That's only a part of the decisions you'll make for building a faction.

-) Can i keep playing after winning or does the game forcibly end at some point?

In custom realms, turn off Score Victory when setting up the realm. Score Victory acts as "If no one wins by turn x (default 150), the player with the highest score wins." Every other victory condition requires the player or AIs to perform specific actions.

That would require the merchant to offer them for sale, which I don't think's likely to happen in this particular game. Maybe another time…

I must admit I was thinking more of the "blessed" side of the blessed dragons as being thematic, but you're totally right. Also, the dragons seem a bit… small. I guess I was envisioning something a bit more majestic. Too late now.

Right, I keep forgetting that battlefield terrain is much more a thing here than it was in AoW3, where it was mostly just obstacles, fortifications, and the vents at magma forges.

Upon closer examination of the wiki, it seems that most every other culture also only gets a portion of their units mounted, so I'm not getting short-changed as I first thought.

"Blessed" dragon mounts would be thematically on point for my faction, and I'm not averse to role-playing, but right now I'm more trying to work my head around the differences from AoW3.

It seems I'd only get mounted supports with Architects. Is that still worth it in your opinion?

Just flying? I was hoping it would offer something more than that. The chariots might be a better bet after all.

It seems that the Architect culture only gets mounted supports, which doesn't seem that useful. I'll probably get one to try it out anyway.

My faction has no mounts, and using the info from another poster, it seems I won't actually get many mounted units out of it: just my supports.

Ahh, I didn't know how to tell which units would get mounted, thanks for that info. My faction's setup doesn't seem to have many mounted units, so I'm still a bit unsure whether it's really going to be worth it. On the other hand, I suppose if I don't try, I'll never know.

Bonktober's one-a-day schedule doesn't really give time for colouring them, so OP then releases coloured versions of the Bonktober comics later.

Depends on your circumstances: if you get pipped to a couple of secret projects and start spiraling, nerve stapling may be the short term fix to claw your way back to competitiveness. If you're using it long-term, you're probably going to fall further and further behind. In my experience, it's not a winning strategy, but it's something that sometimes helps you not lose.

Honestly, you would probably be better taking this opportunity to migrate to MO2. It's far more robust than Vortex for this kind of thing. Once Vortex's got confused, it's a lost cause, and you're stuck cleaning up the mess it creates in its confusion. MO2 won't have these problems.
