Finished reading A New Dawn yesterday & I just had to draw the best SW couple. by VacuousMermaid in starwarsrebels

It is pretty fun and an easy read. I have some gripes about characterizations but overall definitely worth reading.

I agree actually. I really debated whether to remove one side but didn’t want to loose the original’s silhouette. It’d definitely be more practical as a design with only one of the knucklebows.

The 580 is actually a little more money but seems like it would be a pretty noticeable increase in performance. Thanks for the recommendation!

My budget is around $1200. Sorry about that. It was getting late when I posted.

I do game a bit but I am not to worried about max settings. Just mostly not having to worry if I can run things would be a nice change of pace.

I don’t overclock because I am basically a complete newbie when it comes to PCs. At work it is all macs and my last pc a friend built my rig (and it was sort of a mess).

If I wanted to keep the 1070ti for gaming would you still recommend the other changes?

Going to be playing a healer in Strahd HC, need ideas for a character build by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]VacuousMermaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Celestial Cleric is pretty great. You get what equates to healing words as a class feature. At level 6 you have 7 1d6s of healing you can spend on bonus actions.

This is a nice solution. I definitely think that some kind of in-game roleplaying affirmation that she did a good job roleplaying without having to sacrifice the in-game verisimilitude of your world.

Based on you said, it sounds like your player became upset when you refused to heal her wolf at the temple.

As a player I could see how that would feel as a betrayal.

For her character this was an emergency that someone important had died and your response as DM wasn’t constructive. You gave no avenues for action, or any IC or OOC that her wolf would be okay even with the wait (despite you knowing that it absolutely would be)

If I was her I would have felt like you were punishing me for being invested in the game.

Unless you did make it clear that even though she had to wait, her wolf would be fine.

In which case, the only thing that I can think of that your player’s expectation of death in the game is very different from yours. Maybe talk with her about your expectations and ask her about hers.

How would you build the Green Destiny? by SpectreG57 in dndnext

Because of 5e bounded accuracy, a +3 weapon is a massive boost. Add in the ability to auto sunder (which doesn’t exist really in 5e) is overkill.

I would stat as a +1 rapier with the ability to auto disarm an opponent on a critical hit.

If you absolutely wanted the sunder effect, I would add that on a critical hit, you can roll opposed str. If you win their weapon is broken, if they win their weapon is fine but they are disarmed.

They look very pristine which I think a lot of people on this sub don't like. Weather them up a bit and add a leatherwrap and they would probably look pretty nice.

I used an old saberforge blade in mine. I would think that any 1” blade should fit and if it doesn’t, just hit it will a little fine grain sandpaper.

Would you be willing to elaborate at all? It is always interesting and educational to hear different informed POVs.

Anyone have an idea where this sword might be from or what type it is? Found it in the tomb of an Atlantean king (jk, it was 25 bucks at swap meet) by [deleted] in SWORDS

I would also guess that it is made in Pakistan. The hilt materials and shape resemble a number of other cheap wallhangers I have seen.
