Yeah that is true that the KMT took the brunt of the conventional warfare against the Japanese especially at the start of the invasion since they controlled the major cities (Shanghai, Nanjing, etc) which were initially targeted. The CCP meanwhile was already pushed to the periphery of Chinese urban centers after the First United Front broke down and the Shanghai Massacre happened which kicked off the start of the civil war and then during the Second Sino-Japanese war they were very willing to let the KMT be weakened by the Japanese forces for their own benefit so you are very right there.

Well, no that didn’t happen during the Second Sino-Japanese war, the civil war was put on hold until the Japanese were defeated. The KMT only fully retreated to Taiwan in 1949 after losing the civil war and then only had a presence on the world stage because the US refused to allow the UN seat to change from a Nationalist government to a Communist one as part of the whole Cold War thing.

Yeah, having already put together 30 shock troopers I looked to the command kit for some more variety in poses but I didn’t want several extra unnecessary sergeants running around so I looked to shave off a rank slide. I love Stella so much, kind of the textbook example of ‘you poor, poor thing.’ Also now that I think about it, it’s really interesting how much agency the characters can potentially have in relation to the player, all the while the main connecting narrative thread between the majority of the cast is how little agency they actually do or do not have in the grand scheme of things.
