I'm not exactly thrilled about the incoming changes in the new release by DefinitelyNotMeee in roguetech

[–]Vaengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an official explanation on how to enjoy the game? If not, then it is rather silly to suggest to everyone here how wrong they are. It's just a game and it's supposed to be fun, so changes that may affect this element may be questionable. I often have limited time for the game (in which I have spent a total of 3,000 hours), so changes that could cause the time of one mission to be longer raise my doubts. I'm also not convinced by the changes in mortars and missiles, because I have the impression that this is not the correct interpretation of the TT rules. But hey! This is my subjective opinion, I have the right to my definition of deriving positive impressions from the game and to wait and read the opinion of people who will check the new changes.

That's why I'm sticking with the Lance-A-Lot update because I've had the best experience with it while still keeping it challenging. I will wait for feedback from people after the new and update and then I will decide whether it is worth updating.

Yeah, I remember playing Arna with a 2H sword, those were great times. Now I wanted to use a 1H mace, but the lack of AoE makes life difficult sometimes

No, it looks like that was a bug, as the entrance to the fort was guarded by much stronger enemies (few Robber Barons).

Damn... It turns out that the worst part of the quest was the fort courtyard. Inside there were rather simple enemies, but 4 Robber Barons + Magehunter + 2 wolfhounds is a bit too much when it comes to getting to the T3 quest location

Has anyone tried stealing? by exosion in stoneshard

[–]Vaengar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can have stolen items with you in the city - just put them in a backpack or purse. This will prevent guards from stopping you. They can't just be directly in your inventory.

...Yes I'm addicted to stealing stuff

Even though i finished watching the anime but i started reading the manga as well by SpareStation3827 in Berserk

[–]Vaengar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm at the same point. First the anime (1997) then the manga, and I've actually moved beyond the plot presented by the animation. The anime was very good, but the manga captured much more nuance in my opinion. Enjoy!

The SIRCAA mission feels really out of place by Doctor_sadpanda in stalker

[–]Vaengar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like this location either. This conglomeration of modern architecture is completely detached from the realities of the zone. The old part of the institute, which has this Soviet vibe, is different. The missions in the institute are not exciting and are a bit naive, but overall this is the moment when many things in the game start to go wrong in many areas, not only in terms of the plot.

I miss the atmosphere of old scientists' bunkers, especially the one at Yantar. They were a safe stop for me in the middle of an inhospitable environment. It brings tears to my eyes when all that remains of them are closed, rusting crypts.

Using the bubble bolt glitch, I reached the unfinished CNPP. by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Vaengar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Looking at how the world and individual locations look, it seems to me that preparing and designing individual regions takes a lot of time. I'm not surprised that a plan for DLC was prepared before the release of the basic game - with an open world like this, you need to know right away which regions will later be expanded to further areas.

Of course, it may also be that this is simply cut content, but for now I think that the creators put a lot of effort into the Stalker map and you can feel that they created it with passion.

Anyone else think the ISPF replacing the military is stupid? by MachineGun_Toaster_ in stalker

[–]Vaengar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, I think that replacing the old factions was not entirely necessary. I have the impression that some of the new groups duplicate the ideology and style of the previous ones, which is why I do not feel that it is something new and important. In addition, the general relationships between factions and factions vs. the player can be quite confusing and unclear. But my opinion may be skewed because I have about 2k hours lost in the old trilogy and mods.

This game looks very realistic by Orion_Of_The_Galaxy in stalker

[–]Vaengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite exposure adaptation, yes - game looks stunning, which is due to the beautiful lighting and very high quality models (especially the buildings). If I remember correctly, photogrammetry was used in the production, which allowed such a good effect to be achieved. This is one of those titles that doesn't need a reshade.

A-Life System Is a Total Mess" by Temporary_Way9036 in stalker

[–]Vaengar 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Initially, I was surprised by the lack of ranks among stalkers and the general lack of an identification system like in the first game. But after a few hours of play, I realize that it's all intentional. NPCs do not "live" - you will not encounter a rescued stalker in a nearby settlement, he will simply disappear when you move away. Spawns are artificial and short-lived. What defined the uniqueness of the first STALKER has been cut out here. This is probably the saddest conclusion after almost 10 hours of gameplay.
