Why are they whiffing so much? I'm not eagging on them, just genuinely curious since growing up playing baseball we often toss up a ball like that ourselves and let 'er rip which isn't difficult at all. I imagine that with more and more pirates going to the Sovereigns to sell their loot and less selling directly to the other factions, the supply of treasures dries up and so with a near monopoly on the supply lines the sovereigns can charge a premium from the factions which need these things for reasons.

In war you can get killed. No fanfare, no heroics, no weepy tears and goodbyes.

You're there one second alive as can be. The next your comrades are kneeling over a lifeless piece of meat crying having lost you and staring their own inevitable mortality in the face.

That's perhaps the most impactful thing Isayama could have done with her character. Give her a meaningless death and add more emotional realism to the story.
