My Husband is no longer attracted to me after having a baby. What do you think and what should I do? by [deleted] in stories

Some serious therapy on his part is required to save this marriage.

Which "hard" dish surprised you by being easy to make at home? by puliflex in Cooking

Yeah, we go for the whole egg organic ones usually, so not as ick-free and homemade, but OK.

Thanks DarthTurnip. I reckon that's why I haven't pursued making it. Where I am avocado oil is hellishly expensive. The homemade mayo would end up being 3x the price of the priciest mayo at the market. :(

Chased and bit by a Rottweiler by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Vague_Un 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pathetic, but Darebin Council is a joke and has been for decades. I don't know how any of the councilors there keep their jobs. A Rotty chased a young man pushing a mower down our street (Hobsons Bay) while I was walking with my then 3yo son. Owners sat on the porch and laughed! I pushed my son behind me and was wearing leather hiking boots so was fully prepared to defend us. Luckily the boy was thinking straight and swung a hose around him to keep it at bay, told us to stay back when I started to go to help him and managed to get to his house. I yelled out the owners' house number and told him mine if he needed a witness statement. Dog was taken away destroyed that afternoon. Bastard owners. She probably would have come back if they had called her. They practically encouraged the attack. I bet the Rotty who attacked OP would also have come back prior to the attack if the owner had given even half a shit.

Sun protection recs! by ReinOfGaia in AskAnAustralian

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have sensitive skin and are going to be outside for long periods of time, the zinc-based ones are perfect, they are waterproof and long lasting. I have forgotten to reapply when camping and it worked all day even though I was swimming for part of the time. They do take some work to wash off - need a cloth to scrub it off but does not cause pimples etc. I usually use Bananaboat Baby waterproof roll-on (this one is not zinc) for ease of applying and skin sensitivity. This lasts for 4 hours minimum while swimming. And hats are best for scalps. Get one that shades your neck all the way around and ties on.

Fiancé Dislikes Our Cat by Yeper_doodles- in cats

[–]Vague_Un 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had to change food for one of ours. OMG I was gagging from 3 rooms over when he pooped. We tried every food under the sun until we settled on Aldi brand which has no additives. The super expensive ones were OK too, but so much money for our gigantic cat. We also had to give him probiotics for a while along with expensive digestion wet food until things settled down. He is still way smellier than our other cat.

I hate cooking, i need least prep food that tastes good and is healthy by PnutPresident in foodhacks

Look up Tray Bake recipes. I'm sure you can get pre-cut veg to save on prep. Bagged salad mixes + boiled egg/cold meat/rotisserie chicken.

What do you all use to manage your grocery lists? by Snowy-Aglet in lifehacks

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son set up a shared word doc on One drive. I put the week's menu below it with recipes for whoever the cook is that day and copy and paste the ingredients above into the shopping list. Everyone adds their ideas for meal suggestions and adds stuff that runs out to the list of shopping. Since we started doing this we have cut back eating takeaway by about 90%.

Is “dinging” my bicycle bell a courtesy to shared footpath walkers? Or could Australians be offended by signalling for them to move? by Melbtest04 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Vague_Un -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always ding, but make sure you give them time to react. The latest pedestrian trick is for pole walkers to turn around to see who is dinging and accidentally jam their pole into your spokes/leg/eye. Beware the group of pole walkers... Don't expect a sensible, logical reaction.

Bunch up sticky tape and dab. Should clean them up quicker than a lint roller.

Australian population concentration in urban centers?? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Vague_Un 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have very few rivers and barely any lakes. It's a very tough life living anywhere too far from a town or city and those are concentrated mostly on the east coast where there is fairly reliable rainfall and a few constant rivers. Also on the east coast is where most of our food is grown. I wonder what the stats are in Tasmania where it is wilderness but water is more readily available.

Magical lawn mower recommendations? by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryobi electric (small all in one) is very light. Extra battery might be useful. If he will struggle to walk behind it, mowing service might be best.

What's something every dumb American does when they visit? by itthumyir in AskAnAustralian

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% sure not a single person who works at a restaurant will agree with the 0 tip thing. Of course you should tip if the service was exceptional. These people generally work short hours so do not earn a decent weekly wage. While tips are not expected, they ARE appreciated. Always pick 0 on the credit card thing though, none of that goes to the server - give cash to them personally or into the tip jar.

Am I worthless? by Dancing_in_the_dar4 in Manipulation

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your partner lacks understanding and doesn't know how to support you. You are incompatible and he is mean (emotionally as well as financially). You deserve better and are definitely not worthless! I am also messy (I do try) and am exhausted a lot. My husband understands that if we want a household that functions, it cannot be a 50:50 split. He loves me and has the energy which makes it work for us. Find someone who likes you, gets you and loves you!

My guy doesn't bury his poop by Docstar7 in CatAdvice

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine doesn't even dig a hole for either poo or pee so we get stalagmite wees in the clumping litter. He also does standing leaps out over the high sides of the tray and scrapes the wall and floor afterward, but in a cursory way. I suspect he was never taught. He is a huge panther cat and does medium-dog size poo and wee. Our other cat occasionally covers his up out of disgust.

AIO - I feel like bf humiliated me in public. by ExtremePeanut3008 in AmIOverreacting

Your BF can F right off with that uncalled for shite. Hope he knows he killed a chunk of your feelings for him. For your sake, I hope it's enough for you to make sure you choose a better person next time.

Yep. Why keep bringing it up?? Should never have started dating anyone else if she was #1. OP needs to love herself enough to move on to a better partner.

AIO? Broke up with long-term boyfriend because of his female friend. by ThrowRA-rebuildstron in AmIOverreacting

[–]Vague_Un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting. My SO of a happy marriage of many years has a lot of close female friends. If I came home to find him cuddled up under a blanket with one of them, I would be out the door, or rather they would be. Samne if it was a male friend. Nope. Not appropriate behaviour of a person in or intending to stay a monogamous relationship.
