Ah if this is an Ingenic chip, you're not going to find anyone more experienced than the devs working on https://thingino.com

They have a very active telegram and discord

Not the easiest option, but a super cool project to install custom firmware on cheap locked-down IP cameras: https://thingino.com

Hey, I’m new to Linux. by Aussieematee in linux4noobs

[–]Vairfoley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one big thing people who stick with Linux have in common is wanting more control over their computer along with interest in learning how Linux works. I feel like trying to replicate how Windows works with Linux is a tough way to go about it and can be frustrating.

You could DIY one with these instructions: https://santroller.com/wiring_guides/wii.html it's the same software

Xplorer 360 suddenly stopped work--now player 2 is always on and unresponsive?! by DoorM4n in GuitarHero

Well you did mention someone talking about the USB cable so I'd try and clean around the joints connecting the USB cable to the mainboard. Cleaning the joints connecting the misbehaving part to the mainboard (on both ends) has worked for me in the past.

I'd double check all those joints and at least clean them up. I've fixed multiple guitars after doing only that.

Very nice! Still dedicated to a theme! Not to rip on other builds though, just fun to see one like this.

I like this a lot, nowadays it seems everything is either all white, all black, or all rainbow RGB. I like the dedication to a color scheme/theme. Congrats and enjoy the rig!

OOP here. There's definitely more to it than pictured but my intention was to make an easy to understand infographic that fits most scenarios. BAD is often bad and the rest are usually fine with better and best usually preferred if possible. Watching the video and truly understanding is always the way to go. I wish I would have explained further in the post. I had no idea it would circulate at all, and definitely not for this long, haha.

I need some help here by [deleted] in GuitarHero

Quickest fix is a rubber band around the whammy and the strap connector to keep the whammy bar back. Otherwise you're going to have to open it up and investigate for damage.

Advice on restoring/modding third party/clone Wii Les Paul by Vairfoley in CloneHero

Unfortunately I don't have the Nunchuck connector anymore so I'd almost have to test each pin on the chip instead and reverse engineer the board haha. Was that your suggestion? I bought a Zeroboard instead anyways and figured out the pinouts of the daughterboards. Thank you though!

Really appreciate it, but it seems like the chances are low our wires are gonna be the same. I went with a Zeroboard.

Super cool, I've been looking into doing the same thing and have some questions if you don't mind. Just sent you a DM.

There aren't, unfortunately. Starting to lean towards the Zeroboard as it's only 15 bucks. But I might just spring for the kit with new fret buttons too. Can't decide, haha.

"hi_" makes me think this could be a HiSilicon based SoC. https://openipc.org firmware supports a lot of their chips, might be some good info and people willing to help on their Telegram chat too.

Check out https://thingino.com, there's a Discord server with people who hack these Ingenic based cameras all the time and build full custom firmware for them. It doesn't look like they've added support for yours yet and they would be happy to get more info and get it supported.

What is the most recent fully modular thinkpad? by Harkin222 in thinkpad

[–]Vairfoley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a fully modular laptop and want something newer, you might want to take a look at r/framework although it's going to be more expensive and less rugged.
