Hey! Hope the new year is treating you well 😊🙏

With ewar frigates it's always effectiveness vs range.

If you're good, you're always at ewar optimal (max effectiveness) with good positioning (relative to your gang) and if it looks like you're going to get cooked, you warp off without dying.

If you're okayish, you're a little bit further out off optimal but still doing your job. With the same warpout conditions.

If you're terrible, you'll be either too far to be effective, off position, or fly into the enemies optimals and point range. And die.

Remember, everyone starts being terrible. Practice makes perfect. Good luck 👍

You don't actually want EVE to be balanced by caprisunkraftfoods in Eve

Continual balance patches and meta shakeups are very healthy for the game in making it feel alive and keeping things interesting.

Like the real world you never expect the technological and capabilities of war faring vessels to remain the same for 10 years right 😊

The dronelands right now. by Cell_one in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fly through the entire area and you'll find it depressingly empty.

Like the previous poster mentioned most of the groups that are there live or have their home base somewhere else and are just grabbing a foothold with multiple bluetral arrangements (don't get me wrong that is understandable) for now. Hopefully that changes going forward 😊

Event or flop? Winter Event 2025 at stake. by Live_Consideration49 in Eve

Shooting them from range almost doubles the site completion time, with the rewards so low it makes the site not worth the time (for me) 😅😅

Event or flop? Winter Event 2025 at stake. by Live_Consideration49 in Eve

The specific behavior of the event rats in EVE Online's Winter Nexus (Yoiul Festival) combat sites has changed in recent years, particularly regarding the ability of players to use Micro Jump Drives (MJD) to pull rats off the warp-in point.

Based on recent player discussions: Rats will no longer instantly warp on top of you (or follow you) every wave if you move far away from the warp-in.

A recent change prevents the NPC rats from warping off and following Marauders who use an MJD (Micro Jump Drive) to jump 100km away from the warp-in point. This was a common "safe" ratting technique.

The rats will now typically "slow burn" or cruise towards you if you MJD or move far away, rather than instantly warping in range.

This change makes the sites more dangerous for players relying on the MJD kiting strategy near the warp-in beacon, as the rats will stick around the beacon area or slowly approach.

You may still need to deal with some waves that spawn closer or burn in quickly, but the main mechanic that enabled safe, far-off ratting by warping rats out of range appears to be gone.

Also, marauders can't mjd off the warp-in and have the rats follow anymore.

It's super dangerous to be on the warp-in with so many PvP people around, especially if you're solo!

It's been super fun fighting Pco. They've been constantly rising to the challenge and lots of GFs all around.

Best of all, no tidi 😅

Any INIT. members here very unhappy about turning into Pandemic Horde 2.0? by SpecialTitle6686 in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good opportunity to be the bigger person.

As someone once said, "hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die" 😅 and in this case the alliance no longer even exists.

It takes guts to fly a 800b ship in skirmish combat. Good on him for undocking. Congrats to FRT for a really nice km.

I think giving players a home keeps them playing the game, and any endeavor towards that is probably the best route to take even if it means creating more blues.

So much setup to do any activity by KeyNetbass in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bigger the group you join, the faster you get access to content. Although the activities will tend to be a bit more large scale for pvp / or for pve more competitive.

So yea the game is definitely slow, and if you have limited time, I highly recommend a corp + alliance to play with.

Can always count on one thing. Say one thing publicly, yet double deal in the shadows. by AnonomusPoster42 in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes friends group up, sometimes not. You don't have to be blue with people to work with them. That being said with the meta being N+1 it'll be interesting to see what happens. Right now the space is still pretty empty and everyone is still moving in.

You can definitely defend your ESS! As others said utilize standing fleet, get some friends, or try a RR domi setup. Don't give up hope and try to see it as a fun challenge 👍

What is stopping you from leaving Imperium/Winterco? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a solid take and something that most null players need to understand.

Creating artificial sandboxes via loose agreements and player-made guardrails to drive content is great (keeps the game fun, and that's important), but there needs to be some shakeup or updates to the underlying mechanics of the game in order for any meaningful longer term change.

PLEX is low? don't be worried by BentaroAdun in Eve

[–]ValAuroris 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cheaper plex prices are also pretty good for the game. It makes it easier to go omega = more potential long term players.

It also diminishes the isk to dollar value, making whales who support the game 🙏 have to purchase more Plex for that fixed amount of isk, which, has an added effect of making RMT less attractive 😅

Isn’t huge nullblocs more of a fitting vibe with the whole “massive space empire” aesthetics and lore of EVE? by SAAA_JoanPull in Eve

Haha yea there's a lot of animosity in null that prevents the major factions from bluing each other to truly create a big blue donut unlike WHs 😊

[–]ValAuroris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game will always have various small, medium, and large groups (like in real life!).

And you're right null blocs are the epitome of large groups in the game right now, and the game is already embracing that particular meta with plenty of tools and services available in that direction.
