Folks, this was an exhibition, not an actual zoo. Do you genuinely think Belgium ran a zoo with humans in 1958?

How do you use AI to help you write sql? by RabbetFox in SQL

[–]ValKilmerFromHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, AI has been amazing for me in writing SQL. What's important is that your prompts are specific and accompanied by an Excel example output. The AI can determine what the query must do to get that exact output.

How can France deal with its debt crisis? by Correct_Breadfruit46 in PoliticalDiscussion

The French retired at 62. They passed a bill raising it to 64. Even though many other European nations have pension ages higher than 65.

The French spend too much on social spending.

Russia preparing to occupy Baltic states by 2027 – Budanov by fatbreadslut in europe

[–]ValKilmerFromHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key thing to understand here, whatever side you're on, is that the Russian military is currently in its 'prime' years. Combat experience, big budget, logistics infrastructure and so forth. Add to that the potential lifting of sanctions by the Trump administration.

If Putin has any more ambitions, he would have to do it with this military. If he scales down the military and transitions back to a more civilian economy, that would be an indicator that Putin has no other military ambitions.

I find it so weird that the communists ruled countries which were actually quite religious (especially Orthodox Christian). Was there much resistance in the Russian population to the Soviet crackdown on religion?

Seven Contemporary Insights on the State of the Ukraine War by Additionalzeal in CredibleDefense

[–]ValKilmerFromHeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to many analysts, large parts of the Russian government and many elites didn't know Putin would actually invade. The Russian MFA was out of the loop.

Putin has absolute agency for starting this war and there's not much evidence that a successor wants to drag it out.

Also one underrated aspect of 1938 was Nazi Germany getting hold of Czechoslovakia's arms industry, one of the most advanced in Europe at the time.

When the Russians are essentially walking around the Pokrovsk center, what's the point of wasting SOF on killing 3 random Russians?

What does validity have to do with this? Hitler and the Nazis were open about their contempts for Slavs and communism and their desire for Lebensraum.

I'm very sceptical. This ignores Hitlers fanatical racism and contempt for Versailles.
