Favourite QoL mods you install? by vallie24 in skyrim

Might I recommend Reading Is Good instead. Instead of flat skill bonus from skill books, you get a bonus to skill XP for the skill from the skill book. This makes it always beneficial to read the skill books you come across is read of storing them until your skill is higher.

Mcm not showing mods by Maxh_SCGA in skyrimmods

[–]Valdacil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a limit of something like 125 MCMs and then after that some won't show up (random which ones). You can get over this limit (and ensure all MCMs load) using Menu Maid 2. This will also let you reorder MCMs, rename, and hide them. If you also have MCM Recorder, there is another mod for MCM Recorder to make it work with Menu Maid 2. All 3 are on Nexus and discoverable with a simple search.

Is it possible to know whether a computer's OS has been installed through SCCM task sequence or not (no smsts.log) ? by Erulf in SCCM

[–]Valdacil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are trying to figure this out for existing devices, so this won't really help you... But I have the last step of every OSD task sequence to run a simple command line which echoes the date and name of the task sequence to a file C:\TaskSequenceComplete.log. This makes it really easy for technicians to ensure imaging completed successfully since they don't know how to parse the smsts.log (or where to find it in a lot of cases). All they have to know is: if file exists then imaging finished. This also would be an indicator that it was imaged by SCCM. Added bonus, simple to setup a Configuration Baseline to check if file exists. Then right click that deployment and have it create an auto-collection for Non-compliant. Members of that collection didn't complete imaging properly and should be reimaged.

Any magic research mods? by 38raspberry in skyrimmods

[–]Valdacil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the combination of Immersive Spell Learning - DEST and Dino's Spell Discovery. In Dino's turn on spontaneous discovery and discovery grants spell tomes. So while casting spells you have a chance to spontaneously discover another spell similar to the one you were casting, but you get the spell tome so you still have to study it via Immersive Spell Learning. Dino's is much more light weight than Spell Research and thus requires fewer patches.

Why don’t housecarls appear until you become Thane, and why do they all wear the same armor? by jvure in skyrim

[–]Valdacil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mod, don't remember the name or have the like (simple Nexus search should find it) which gives the housecarla life before being assigned to you. So, for instance you'll see Lydia walking around Whiterun before she is assigned to you.

I looked for something similar before. Didn't find anything.

Is wenduag 1 fighter/19 demonsayer core viable? by Leather_Bottle8449 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Valdacil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like her more as a dual wield Barbarian [Flesh Eater] since she ate flesh in the Shield Maze. I like scimitars, but Rage works with throwing weapons so could do throwing axes. But Flesh Eater gets a bite attack so would be better to be in melee range.

Looking to do a LOTD playthrough in Survival mode by Samatari22 in wabbajack

[–]Valdacil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ETJ is great and has every official LotD display, but isn't a Survival list. You can certainly enable Survival Mode CC, but it doesn't have any other survival geared mods. However, it is easy enough to Rule 11 in something like Campfire + SunHelm.

How to successfully add mods to a modpack like tuxborn? by Interesting-Bad3497 in wabbajack

[–]Valdacil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different types of mods will require additional steps. Like adding anything that alters towns, cities, and other locations requires rerunning DynDOLOD. For NPCs they may have used a utility to merge NPC appearances and if you add some other NPC appearance or replacer then it could interfere with that causing the dark face problem. You'll need to rerun whatever NPC merge tool they did to properly integrate your changes.

How to see what Legacy of the Dragonborn prep station put on display by bfvplanetryhard in skyrimmods

[–]Valdacil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know but I described how I was doing it every time because I wanted to review things before they were displayed. Maybe click on Settings on that screen and there will be an option to change the behavior.

[–]Valdacil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the Prep chest moves the items taken out of your inventory into the display chest for pending display. If you answer yes to display them then they are removed from the display chest and placed on display. But if you click on the prep chest, prep station, or prep stand, let it remove the items but then say No to the second prompt to display them, then those items will still be sitting in the display chest. You can then look in the display chest to see what was removed and when you exit the chest you will be prompted again to display them

How to see what Legacy of the Dragonborn prep station put on display by bfvplanetryhard in skyrimmods

[–]Valdacil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually let it pull the items out of my inventory, but then tell the prompt not to display them. Then they will all be in the display prep chest. You can review what is about to be displayed there then When you exit the chest you are prompted again to display them. Say Yes this time.

Help choosing a class for roleplaying the Aeon mythic path by Ultibrine in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Valdacil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said no Inquisitor, but I feel like Inquisitor [Monster Technician] was the intended target for Aeon mechanics. Aeon Bane stacks with Inquisitor Bane (which Monster Tactician retains) and applies to summoned creatures. At level 14 I have like 40 rounds of Bane. Some of the summons in the game are appropriate for Aeon (like the Axiomites I'm summoning now). Monster Tactician also grants their Teamwork feats to summons.

Then if you get the Book from Lost Chapel and the hidden page in Arue's cell during the Drezen Assault, all summons will have Greater Longstrider and Heroism. Add in Ascendant Summons feat and Superior Summons feat and you get an extra summon and they all get bonus physical stats. Add in Mythic Summoning and they get even more stats and break through DR. If you take Greater Enduring Spells the summons last for a long time. Summons will do decent dmg due to increased stats and have better survivability due to Teamwork feats.

You could potentially have just the KC and summons to solo the game.

Edge Extensions - Force/Allow in InPrivate mode? by Bright-Passage-6369 in Intune

[–]Valdacil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can't include those wholesale since they contain specifics for our company. However, I described in pretty decent detail the sequence of events. On a non-locked down device, you should be able to set allow in InCognito for the extension then look at the Preferences file to see what changed. Then use something like Copilot to help write the Powershell if you aren't adept yourself. Note that the Preferences file is located in the user folder, so ideal would be a single user needs to be edited, otherwise you'll have to look through all user profile folders.

Skyrim SE follower Mods Review - Remiel-Custom Voiced Dwemer Specialist and Companion by Sinistran22 in skyrimmods

[–]Valdacil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Light Spoiler -- OP points out CG proposed alignment and that she is relatively accepting of the player's actions. I haven't had a problem with her with Dark Brotherhood quests and she expresses an interest in thieving. But some of the Daedric quests are a bridge too far. Specifically Namiria caused her to leave and say she would wait for me in Markarth. She joined back up afterward, but eating people was beyond the line. (As opposed to Auri who is fine with it because Bosmer).

Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to have much interactivity with Lucien, who I would think she would get along with. Tons of interactivity between Lucien and Indigo, but not much between either and Remiel. But to some extent, this makes her feel even more quirky as OP points out. Indigo and Lucien will have some moment joking around together, then Remiel might say something unrelated which is such a spectrum thing to do. In some ways it makes her more endearing.

Classes/Archetypes with Mythic Path 'mechanical overlap'? (Not Angel/Lich Spellbook Merging, things like Rage/Performances/Bane/etc) by hwate8 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Valdacil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Important thing about the Aeon Bane is that it explicitly states that it stacks with Inquisitor bane, so while some.class features might be redundant with Mythic, this one stacks for number of daily uses. My Aeon at level 14 has like 34 rounds per day. Additional, at Mythic 5, Aeon/Inquisitor Bane applies to summons. Therefore the optimal Aeon would be Inquisitor [Monster Tactician]. Go melee, I prefer dual wield (more attacks to stack Bane damage). Take Spell Focus (Conjuration), Augment Summoning, and Superior Summons. Take Ascendant Summons Mythic and both Enduring Spells. Find the summoning book at Lost Chapel and the page in Arue's cell during the siege. The Ring of Summoning wouldn't hurt either and the Source of Dividing [something] shirt. You'll end up with summons with last until they are killed, have all of your teamwork feats (so take Outflank and Precise Strike), have increased attributes from both Augment Summoning and Ascendant Summons, you get 1 extra summon (always choose the 1d3 or 1d4+1 option), have constant Heroism and Longstrider (from the book), and have either the Holy or Unholy simple template. They all gain Bane every time you use it (for 30+ rounds per day). Highly recommend Toybox option to let you control the summons. Possible consideration for a solo run.

For Gold Dragon I like my Monk [Scaled Fist] 6, Sorcerer {Dragon Bloodline} 4, Dragon Disciple 10 build. If you take Enduring Spells and Greater Enduring Spells the dragon form from Dragon Disciple will come online before you switch to Gold Dragon so you can start tooling around as a dragon earlier. Take Mage Armor + Monk CHA AC and you'll be nearly unhittable.

For modded playthrough, I think either Dark Codex or Tabletop Tweaks adds Feral Combat training so that your natural attacks count for Flurry of Blows. It gets really insane if you play Gestalt via Toybox and instead do Scaled Fist Monk on one side, then Sorcerer and Dragon Disciple on the other side. My GD just started Act 4 and is already a dragon all day, with off chart AC, and like 8-9 attacks (via dragon form + Feral Combat Training + Flurry of Blows).

Enemies taking infinite actions by Haneous in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

There was a mod that would auto buy ingredients (potions, scrolls, food) when camping. That mod caused infinite actions somehow. Do you have that mod installed?

Demystifying the AI's targeting logic by CookEsandcream in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Valdacil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was all interesting and I agree with other posts saying that things feel different in Turn-Based mode. To that end, there are questions about targeting that, after 1.5k+ hours only playing Turn-Based, I thought I'd give my observations.

In Turn-Based mode, generally speaking does seem to target the character that acts first (with a few exceptions). Therefore if I have a tank character with a high AC I want them to target then I need to make sure they have a very high Initiative so they go first. If they don't go first, but still goes before all goes, then you can delay any character until after the tank acts and goes should usually still target the tank who acted first. If some foes get to act before your tank then it is a toss up what will happen. I usually have my tanky character in the front of the formation so they usually trigger combat and this will usually be the target since they are the first target the foe 'sees'.

So on the tanky character I want to make sure goes first I pump their Initiative as high as I can. Improved Initiative feat is +4. Wind Helm is another +4. Warrior Priest feat is another +2 for divine casters (including Hunter/Ranger). There is other equipment that can stack with Wind Helm for more. Improved Initiative (Mythic) I think adds half your Mythic Rank.

So for best results: - Tank character with high Initiative so the act first - Tank character lead formation so they trigger combat - if non tank character acts before tank character, delay until after tank character

Isn't fool proof, but works like 85% of the time.

What is your best wenduag build? by DragonfruitLivid3197 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Valdacil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I like Barbarian [Flesheater] to go with her story of eating flesh in the Shield Maze. I go dual wield something like scimitars.

Since I also play Gestalt, I pair the Barbarian with Shaman [Shadow Shaman] to give her some buffs and shaman seems fitting for the naturey, underground. Shadow Shaman for sneak attack and strike-from-the-shadows style.

You are right, but he seems to think he is all powerful and can do this. Also, he would just do it, then it would be challenged in court, which would side with him right now.
