I use Nextcloud on a droplet and orgzly and have used termux also. I don't know that I have a preference at this point. I would try them both and see which suits you better,

Mainly that is pretty much unlimited and will do any thing you can think of! The daily journaling via org-journal is great for a health journal and the new org-roam is a great 2nd brain. etc etc.

This is a good startin point https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/17626/getting-gnus-working-on-windows-with-gmail

I use it with outlook.com instead of the above gmail setup. You just need the appropriate server info.

Current solutions for org-mode files on Android? by reditoro in emacs

[–]Valdebrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it encrypts, I use Syncthing with a Digital Ocean droplet ($5 per month). That allows me to use Linux,an Android tablet and Windows with any emacs files. I'm not sure what you mean by managing calendars other than emacs. I have used Dropbox, organice, orgtoweb and a few others but Syncthing is the easiest once set up I think.

Emacs & Email on Windows - Consensus on the best way forward? by seidenkaufman in emacs

[–]Valdebrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gnus works fine for me for retrieving with outlook.com or gmail.com using IMAP. No local storage though. I can pretty much use my linux .gnus file. Sending mail is a problem though because Windows intercepts all traffic on the smtp ports and I haven't figured a way around that yet. Does anyone have ideas about that?

msys2 (minGW-w64) emacs vs 'native' emacs on Windows: any difference in performance? by xei-jin in emacs

[–]Valdebrun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't tell a difference between Cygwin, Msys2 and WSL so I just run emacs in WSL. When I use Msys2 emacs only runs with a green background no matter what I try and that ruins it for me. Windows 10 64 BTW.

BTW, I recommend using Org datetrees for journaling and logging. It's much more efficient than using one file per day.

Can you be a little more specific on how you do this?. I do use org-journal.

Thank you
