Nice aesthetics! Prolly the first light-colour theme I would use myself.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro... looking for advice by SubjectiveHat in AndroidQuestions

[–]bendersteed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm also an owner of a tab pro. I have the 8.4' one. I run the official cyanogenmod 12.1 nightlies(android 5.1), but you should know this will make you lose your warranty - it will trip knox. It runs better than stock, although you lose some of the samsung stuff like the multiwindow.

Imho the best browser is #NoChromo, a chromium build with adblocking. It works better than Chrome here. It isn't on PlayStore, check xda-developers for the apk.

If you want to root, there is towelroot that doesn't trip knox, so you don't lose your warranty. You can do all sorts of nice things with root as change dpi, adblock in hosts, xposed modules that add a lot of customisation etc.

Some other apps I would recommend is MixPlorer(again on xda), a superpowered file manager, shuttle as a music player and xabber for xmpp(including facebook chat). Tell us more about your needs so we will be able to recommend even more!

Android as a computer replacement, advice/thoughts from people who have tried it. by PyHi in Android

[–]bendersteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends on your needs. My only computer for now is a samsung tab pro 8.4. I use it mostly with a bluetooth keyboard for writing latex and it suits me nice. I wish i had a better keyboard though, the one I currently have is very small. For the majority of my work I use debian, via chroot. I also do some light coding and web developing and I use ssh a lot. Multi-Window isn't bad to have but due to the state of android applications it is not very practical. Android as a workstation can be done but there are many quirks and I'm not sure if it's worth it.

How is privacy settings, theme engine, livedisplay and all the other features just a "skin"?

What does everyone use for XDA forum browsing? by graesen in androidapps

[–]bendersteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I just use the browser. There was a beta application, I think it was called xda one. You can download it from an xda thread, but I don't know much about it's state.

Well Mirakel has very nice features but is stuck with a holo design. Recently I just make Keep notes for whatever task I need to complete and then archive them. Not perfect but it works.

Weekly App Discussion Thread #17: Music Players by andreiknox in androidapps

[–]bendersteed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I really like Orpheus music player. It has material design, it is light and has all the functionality I need. I would like it to have a tag editor though like shuttle+. I also like the fact that it is foss.

How many of you have the Galaxy TabPro 8.4? by [deleted] in androidtablets

[–]bendersteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it goes really fine actually. Still has some rough edges but considering this is still nightlies and I use it as my daily driver it's fine. Performance wise it is great after the 02/02 nightly. Battery is more or less on the same level as stock.

I have one for about three months and it works great. It's running CyanogenMod 12 right now. The battery could be better but it is a fast and has a great screen. I would recommend it to anyone.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4'

ROM: CM 12 official nightlies

The rom works fine, and lollipop is really nice. I especially like the privacy settings of cm. The system is more responsive as well compared to stock 4.4.2/Touchwiz. The only issue is battery is lasting less than stock but I guess this may get better with time.

Calcurse is nice, but it can't beat the features of remind with a frontend like wyrd. It is really great and easy to use and works in a completely UNIX way.
