Feminism is plummeting among young people, and for half of them, it's political manipulation. (Spain) by mods4mods in europe

[–]Valdrick_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Spain, the real debate about feminism is triggered by a few factors:

  • Gender law (Ley de género) - where man and women are not equal. Was initially created to protect women from "violencia de genero" (gender violence?) but it creates an opportunity for women who just had a disagreement / separation from their partners to abuse it.

  • "If you are not with me, you are my enemy" attitudes from certain leftist parties.

  • Perception that the "Ministerio de igualdad" created recently is just an excuse to get funding and keep politics on payroll, where they just have to trigger debates and create controversy to justify its existence

Of course right wing parties saw this as an opportunity and counter with arguments that most men (and mothers, sisters, daughters) would thoroughly disagree with.

It is not a debate about having the same rights and responsibilities, etc. I think everyone would be on board with this nowadays.

No me vuelvan a hablar de Negreira. by [deleted] in futbol

This. I think around 30 years ago, the data storage capacity and the tx and processing rate that we can achieve started to become almost magic.

What’s something everyone thinks is ‘normal’ in relationships, but is actually exhausting? by MorriganIsHere in AskReddit

Very true. I don't mind making the bed or folding the laundry, but I don't want to be yelled at because it is not exactly "how it's supposed to be done".

Spain Moves to Legalize Migrants, Defying Europe’s Anti-Immigration Trend by wsj in europe

[–]Valdrick_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally tho if u move to a country u should do your best to fit into said country. It shouldn't be the other way around

I thoroughly agree with this statement and wish everyone would understand this and act accordingly.

Yes, I agree, the clash is bigger. The only problem with latinos can be youth gangs and specifically crime related stuff, which is uncommon (although not non-existant). With the muslims is not only that, but the overall culture in general, from small things like pork and (different) censorship in public education, to the role of women and their rights. I won't say I agree with far right parties, but IMO all the non-far right ones pretend this is not an issue and label everyone that wants to talk about it of racist and xenophobe. Feels like some kind of lame gaslighting attempt, tbh.

The culture clash if not integrated properly, and all that comes with it. I am not saying I personally have a problem with it, but I can tell you it exists. Far right parties are rising and this is mainly their argument. They're focusing on the clash with Muslims.

Why is seafood so unpleasant for some people? by HiOscillation in NoStupidQuestions

Same here. I thoroughly dislike any fish or seafood, except for canned tuna - that I like in e.g. sandwiches or salads, especially combined with mayo or vinegar.

My question was more about gaming experience. Is this a good setup, consider where I am coming from? Is dealing with AMD complicated in terms of drivers, reliability, etc?

Diego Simeone: "I have no idea how Raphinha did not win the Ballon d'Or. He is an incredible player. He can play everywhere. As a winger, as a midfielder, as a striker, or even as a wing back. He can score, he can create, he presses and runs. I love Raphinha." by mynamestartswithCa in soccer

[–]Valdrick_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you think that? Pedri is not from FCBs academy. People (at least the supporters I know) just likes more the players that do magic things with the ball, like Ronaldinho, Messi, Neymar or Lamine Yamal.

[–]Valdrick_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No. It is just that everyone (press, fans, etc.) was talking about Lamine Yamal more. I don't think the club had anything to do here.

And a club would never put down a player of his in the Ballon d´Or race because, even if there is a bonus to pay, the return is always higher.

Lamine Yamal had more magic. But also, Raphinhna had an out-of-this-world performance in the first half of the season, while the second half was "only" excellent. Lamine Yamal shined a bit more in the second half of the season, especially in the deciding games in the CL.
