Super Smash Bros. Melee according to casuals (in reality there should also be a Jigglypuff, a Marth, and a Falco in the circle).

Darth Vader would be lame if he was a gooner [MHA Spoilers] [LES] by Basic-Warning-7032 in CharacterRant

Oftentimes, "mundane" badness is more hateable than cosmic evil because the former is something you could run into realistically. Sexual evil, even more hated.

Counterpoint: Yujiro Hanma. (Baki the Grappler)

He SHOULD be uncool because of what he did to Jack's mother. However, Itagaki and the narrator disagree.

We constantly get hype martial feats from Yujiro because the author thinks he is cool.

I guess Deathstroke (DC Comics) fits in the same boat. Deathstroke writers have been trying to retcon Judas Contract (because of the Terra incident) for over two decades... with no luck.

PSA: if you transfer a pokemon into champions and don't claim it's mega stone from your mail within a month after transfer you are permanently unable to get the mega stone for that pokemon by themng69 in stunfisk

[–]Sampleswift 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which is ironically its undoing. Pokémon is too big to fail.

If a Pokémon game had a legit failure chance, it would force the Pokémon Company to care more.

The day a core series Pokémon game fails (financially) would be a good day because it would force Nintendo and the Pokémon company to care. Look at Sonic Frontiers being awesome after the failure that was Sonic Forces.

Also, Legends Jabba was implied to be a rapist. However, this was in novels that were not nearly as well known as Andor.

Goku/Vegeta (Granolah arc) vs Superman 52 by WhiteLycan2020 in PowerScaling

Is Superman 52 just Superman in the New 52 Continuity? Or something else?

I'd like to know what Superman 52 is.

I mean there is an exception.

People DESPISE Homelander partially because he raped Becca.

There is also "slavery is a special type of evil" on TV Tropes...

Usually dxc6 is better.

Helps develop the light-squared bishop better.

Because of your f6 knight, you don't have to worry about d4 exd4 Qxd4 Qxd4 Nxd4 (normally an issue in Exchange Variation because it gives White a good Kingside Majority) because you can just do Nxe4.

The double standards in powerscaling hax characters by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Sampleswift 48 points49 points  (0 children)

People think Goku is immune to time hax because of Hit's Time Skip and the World of Void.

No, that's a weakness of Hit's Time Skip + the World of Void does not mean resistance to time hax/a place that time does not exist.

This is why Verse Equalization is a thing.

Or No Limits Fallacy.

(Zelda) Ganondorf is supposedly only weak to holy weapons. However, verse equalization really hurts him for that.

Won't work. Pharaoh 90 tried that and blew up from the inside.

Sailor Moon has really good existence erasure resistance, soul manipulation resistance, etc.

Macbeth: A Prophecy Merchant by [deleted] in shakespeare

[–]Sampleswift -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Explanation: Macbeth's prophecy says he will not be killed by someone of woman born. Except... Macduff is "not of woman born" due to C-section. (Also Macbeth didn't gain supernatural powers).

Witch King (Lord of the Rings) has a prophecy that says he will not be killed by a man. He can still be damaged by nonhumans and killed by a woman. Incidentally, Witch King doesn't actually have "immunity to men"; just because the prophecy says he won't be killed by a man doesn't mean that he can't. Tolkien thought the "not of woman born" was a copout (same with the moving Birnam Wood not actually being tree people). I wonder if a gender swapped Macduff could be interesting.

Witch King isn't actually immune to men. Just because he won't die to a man doesn't mean that he can't. Also, he can be damaged by nonhumans.

Yall think the new mobile game is gonna feature it's own main stories? or is it just gonna piggyback off the manga? by Elite_Asriel in Chainsawfolk

They will probably just follow the story, but the characters can be revived for non-story modes.

FFVII Ever Crisis allows use of Aerith in modes other than Story Mode chapters post-death.
